English Defence League Clash With Police On Aylesbury Protest

Saturday 1 May 2010: Far rght group the English Defence League (EDL) protested yet again, this time in Aylesbury. 1000 marched through the town in what was called a peaceful demonstration against militant Islam. But as with previous EDL protests, trouble soon flared between proterstors and police. Riot squads and attack dogs were brought in to regain public order, as officers came under a hail of bottles, beer cans, coins, cigarette lighters and sticks. 12 people were arrested, including one known EDL organiser.
