    • What strikes me is how many people are conditioned to instantly, without investigation or any knowledge whatsoever, get a cynical attitude to everything good they hear. It is definitely a sign of the cultural programming that obscures all answers to all the many problems created by virtual conceptual social systems like the money and political systems. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. This is the world's insanity which is putting human survival at peril. If the ecosystem dies because Humanity is not sane enough to adapt and create a flourishing world, then Humanity dies also. We must have freedom beyond all political concepts, beyond religious dogma, and most importantly, beyond the money system, which just has to disappear like the social conceptual virtual virus it is.

    • despite how possible such a system may or may not be-- the focus of our thought, should be what the end of this new system would be and if we are thinking in realistic terms.

would such a system be sustainable, or would we reach yet another high point and fall back down.

this idea, of a perfectly planned economy, is an intoxicating venture; however the transition is impossible. would it come forth from some spontaneous movement from around the world? no! it wont,
      and for one good reason:

you are on a website. typing your thoughts. why? what are you accomplishing? nothing. you are not outside yelling that your mad as hell. because no one wants to be the person thats mad as hell. because then the people want an alternative. and there is no alternative.

when animals evolve they do not think to themselves. "hey we should have larger teeth because that would make X and Y and Z possible" Rather those born with the biggest teeth will survive and propagate more than those with smaller teeth... in this example.
this is how you should think about the change in our society. .. ... ...

if you want your thoughts and opinions to go on beyond you and change the world, then go to school, do well, be successful and influential. make money. become famous. do things that help others. become a pillar of your community.
that is how you can shape your society and change your world.

besides that zeitgeist is BS and presented in an extremely biased rhetoric based on very shady claims. the videos that respond to zeitgeist are also BS.

all this movie is good for is to show to some freshman girls, act all informed and concerned and then proceed to sleep with them. shock and awe...

The cynicism about what one can and cannot accomplished by way of the internet is unwarranted. It is a tool and an influence network the likes of which humanity has never seen before. I believe you grossly underestimate what it has already accomplished, what it accomplishes even now on a daily basis and what it promises in human potential for the future.

You are correct to remain skeptical of any and every claim you hear from others. I'm right there with you in passionate skepticism. Cynicism, however, is unproductive and is not synonymous with skepticism. In that, we part ways. In fact, cynicism is as irrational as pie-in-the-sky idealism. The more I read of the Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movement, the more I'm convinced those involved in both are dedicated to keeping the concept down to Earth which, as it happens, is where is needs to stay to be realized.

Since when was money solved anything? Since when has becoming "famous" solved anything. How has any of this been "influential". Are you serious!? Congrats, you are living in a fog.

    • I agree but it's already too late, we don't have enough oil left on Earth to build enough machines. We don't even have enough oil to create the copper wire to power them.

It is never too late as long as one is still alive. Only in death is it "too late", but it is only too late for you. Others will continue on and more will take their place.

Your personal hope may die with you, but hope in general continues on as long as there is even one hopeful individual.

    • Yes, it's a great dream and I agree that we have the resources and the know how to make it happen. The essential question here is: where does the immense abundance come from? How is it produced and distributed and accessed if not by human effort even aided by technology? Creating such abundance initially, yes, will require great human effort, but will not maintaining such abundance also take great effort?

What is it, who is it that's expected to make this effort? If it is created by machines, who maintains the machines? If those machines are maintained by other machines, who maintains the maintainers? Is it truly possible to eliminate human effort altogether to produce such great abundance or is the abundance necessary to eliminate the need of money, jobs, etc. simply a pipe dream?

These are not criticisms of the very idea behind this movement but rather legitimate questions. Surely the dream cannot be realized unless we are realistic about our chances, yes?

We have the technology to create abundance, money cripples that ability. We need to move towards a global infrastructure to distribute and allocate recourses. Of course at first humans will aid this progression. Great effort yes!.. Are we not doing this now working our asses off for the owners of the world?????? Please get involved and your questions can be addressed more in depth. www.thezeitgeistmovement.com. We meet on a regular basis for discussion on TeamSpeak voice/chat. We would love you input! You seem like minded!
