Obama Serves 14-State Governors with Warnings of Arrest

Obama is angered by the several State Governors who have reestablished “State Defense Forces.” These forces are described as: “State Defense Forces (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States. State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.”
Mr. Obama is fearful of these State Defense Forces, in that he does not have control of said forces, and with the U.S. Military stretched to near breaking from multiple deployments and theatre actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, these State military forces would be under the direct command and authority of the Governors in which states have said forces. In essence, the Governors would have “de facto control” of the United States.

How did this article turn into a discussion over who won and who lost? Too bad I missed it all..
Either way, the Constitution says that a state may have a militia. Obama and Co. are terrified that when the individual states have had enough, they'll revolt and have a well trained, well equipped defense force.
As far as the NSL's go - I'd do just that, wouldn't acknowledge the existence of the communication. Or, I might even go so far as to hold a news conference reading it aloud, then explain that we would be taking volunteers, starting now.

That's it, play the we won, get over a black potus race card. . . then call a governor a dumbass bitch for having the courage to face a serious national problem of illegal invasion into her state and the U.S.
Liberals went damned near apoplectic about Bush for the 8 years he was in office, and to this day foam at the mouth to any who hold accountable the current lawless regime, headed by a horde of narcissistic megalomaniacs who wont uphold the national laws. . . which the Arizona governor has the intestinal fortitude to recognize and enforce.

your contemperary revision of history is really broad and far from accurate.bush lost the popular vote and still one the presidency, and thier was no forming of a liberal tea party equivilant.his entire first year was filled with the standard mockery all elected leaders get plush the goofy shit he earned.
he started getting shit when the worst terror attack to ever hit us soil happened on his watch, and his solution to it was to make it worse.not much protesting or complaining either mind you when we invaded an entire country to look for "a guy".i think we gave him a shit load of room, but in 2003 he started getting shit for lying to us about iraq.literaly from the very moment, the second obama took office he was attacked with the accusation his presidency wasnt valid because the bible he took the oath with wasnt federal gov approved.and he took the oath again.
bush recieved all due respect, and was only attacked when he earned it in 2003 on, obama is the first president to be perpetuated as a muslum nationalist, socialist, nazi, foriegn born, illegitimate president ever. even fords credentials (wich were far less) were accepted with less sceptacism.

My sentiments exactly! Lawn space is valuable. However, the front lawn next to the highway and engine exhaust is unlikely to be your optimal use of land. Since the highway has no tall buildings or trees to block the sunlight, and provided the house is facing south, what you do have is an optimal spot for a solar engine.
But since everybody has solar panels stuck to their brainwashed brains you don't really have a solar engine available. Such a device does a magnification of solar power. In a few hour's time it could charge up a battery bank to run your home for 2-3-4 days, maybe more. What you do is leave the power meter hooked up but it becomes your backup system for when not enough comes from the solar...... Solar becomes the main source.
But of course that might cause some people to lose their well-paying jobs so naw, we don't want to do that.

It is way past time for the Red States to secede. Mr. Lincoln's intentions were decent, but he was wrong to oppose the creation of a Confederacy. Those states whose people no longer wish to be United States citizens must be allowed to form a union of their own. Diplomatic relations can be instituted, for although there are radical political differences, the two resulting countries can be allies for mutual defense against foreign foes. Those citizens of either region who wish to move to one side or the other should be given 1.5 years to do so and establish new employment and residency.
The United States of America, which will then consist of predominantly Blue States, should treat the new ally as a trading partner and similar-language country but should no longer tolerate the imposition of theocratic ideas into the political dialogue. Religious zealotry should be opposed, just as the U.S. now opposes the Taliban, for the absolutist principles which drive the Far Right are and have been un-American for years. If the New Confederacy persists in trying to undermine the principles of the U.S. Constitution through the use of political intimidation, textbook history rewriting, and boorish sloganeering, the United States should impose trade sanctions against it, so that those Red Staters who believe they live in a vacuum can be made aware of their dependence upon the Blue States for their economic well-being.
Civil war can and must be avoided, because both sides need each other; however, unambiguous policies must be established and followed to ensure that U.S. citizens are no longer forced to tolerate the forces of blind religious fanaticism.
If the Confederates wish to form militias, such groups must be kept under constant satellite surveillance by U.S. armed forces, and Predator drones must be deployed to keep watch upon Red State militants who seek to foment guerilla warfare against peace-loving U.S. citizens. The Red State fanatics whose mistaken interpretation of history has led them to believe they are right to create fascist kleptocracies in the name of Jesus are as dangerous to freedom as Iran's ayatollahs and they must be treated as such.

I agree with the sentiment about letting the red states break free from the Republic, however, Lincoln was right to put an end to slavery.
I was watching the History Channel's presentation of "The story of US" and I found it quite interesting during the section on Lincoln and the Civil War. Slaves in the south represented 2 billion dollars in economic power for the south. It stated in the documentary that the loss of 64K slaves was a loss of 5 Million dollars. I was shocked to hear that...imagine with what the dollar was worth back then that a slave was worth an average of $78.15.
The ironic thing is this, even though we abolished slavery in a physical sense, we ended up all becoming slaves in an entirely different way. We have all become economic slaves to the Federal Reserve Corporation.

I hate to be the bearer of common sense amongst all these ridiculous comments but people please note that this post was posted to the COMEDY category! It is absolutely false and ten seconds of research would prove that. This article was written and started making the rounds from a conservative blogger who identifies himself not as an American but as a Virginian. Please consider spending a few minutes researching before automatically jumping to assumptions and believing what you want to believe. Simply because we want to believe something is true as it follows our beliefs or personal agenda does not make it true.

I couldn't agree more, now if someone would just tell the President and Sebelius that, maybe we could move on.
President Barack Obama's administration on Monday asked a federal judge in Virginia to dismiss the state's lawsuit alleging Congress overstepped its constitutional bounds with the new health care reform law.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius argued in a motion filed hours before a midnight deadline that the law is well within the scope of the Constitution's Commerce Clause.

Usually I would completely agree with you but regarding this it is entirely a matter of facts. It gets posted by users on the free press site and is then removed as it's not remotely true. Unlike the BBC UK which is (in my opinion) one of the few truly independent sources of international news as they do not depend on advertising or government funding (they are funded by an automated fee paid by each television viewer throughout the UK) the Free Press is a conservative paper and you can read that for yourself on their website under About Us. It's been posted several times by one of their users/bloggers and each time it's removed because it's completely untrue.

Not only did I check those links but the ownership and leanings as well. I take my news from true independent sources without the need for corporate money or government aid and cooperation. We live in a world where anyone can post anything and cite it as fact. And we live in a world where every organization (conservative, liberal, republican, democrat and so on) has multiple holdings they can cite as reliable sources. No different than the infomercials for weight loss products that cite the American Obesity Conference (as just one example) but fail to mention that the company itself set up that organization and has it headquartered out of their own offices. Many of you will recall that old infomercial before 20/20 called them out and they shut down.
This is our world and we need to be willing to do our own research. I suggest anyone who questions call Governor Perry's office and ask his people and they will tell you this is false. Also while you're at it please look up State Defense Forces as you'll quickly learn that they already exist (thus no one has to create them) as veterans clubs throughout the U.S. Why would a governor have to create that which already exists?

States having the right to form their own army to be controlled by the governor to rule the state and all matters within that state.....that's what i hear. the amendments do say that a state has the right to govern them self separate from the federal government and law....that's what i knows. Statement:If I were president i would see no problem in actions the governors are taking. My questions (if i were president) would be why and for what reasons are these state armies need for....

The fact that the president's full name is used is an antagonistic method the uber-right employs at every opportunity and many here should be old enough to know that by now. Also, not calling him "President" is another way these extreme-right fanatics have of somehow disenfranchising Obama from the office he was legally and overwhelming elected to. This reeks of bullshit right-wing paranoia of the highest order and after almost a year-and-a-half of this canard it is VERY easy to spot. Here's a notion, try coming back in the mid-term or 2012 elections--if you can--with candidates whom espouse actual ideas that help people instead of this bullshit paranoia.

References to the story appear in multiple international press agencies:
http://www.eutimes.net/tag/us-governors-national-security-letters/There was another in the Canada Free Press, but for some reason the article does not appear (the link is good but the server won't display the article)
http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/23628The news source appears to be the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) prepared for Prime Minister Putin.
That's pretty odd. That in itself seems newsworthy. Why would the Russians release this information? What are they playing at?
All the rest of the references appear to be nothing more than copy/pastes of the article.
There is at least supporting evidence that something is going on, since the Huffington Post reported something about it recently:
"Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/13/oklahoma-tea-party-plans_n_535412.htmlBut I have not heard of other states contemplating the same.
Assuming that the original article is real, it comes from a dubious source. That beings said, it doesn't mean that it's automatically false. But it's not reliable.
I'd categorize it as something to keep an eye out for, we do know that many in the tea party are increasingly agitated, Obama's politics is certainly not calming fears and anger, militias are growing, and there has been at least ONE incident in which some representatives within a state allegedly proposed starting an SDF.
Just because you may not like the politics, or think it sounds kooky, doesn't mean it's not something to read about and research and see what's going on. That's the danger of arrogance and censorship, it's willfully putting your own eyes out.

I for one will be researching this article to see if I can find any corroborating evidence. It may be totally bogus.
But again, i ask: let's suppose it is totally 100% PsyOps by the Russians. Why would they do that? What do they gain? Are they hoping to provoke radical conservatives to start an insurrection?

cuz its not standard practice to refer to our leaders by using theyre full names. even though we had to george bush's we stilled refered to him as george bush not george (what ever his middle name is) bush.
and this unique trend (of using his middle name) tends to corralate with vague racial bashing and name calling void of substance.thats is what the problem of using his middle name has become, it shouldnt be that way but it is

You are right. This is not news, it's dangerous anti-American propaganda. Here in Texas these people often start ranting in public to anyone who they think will listen. Sometimes it gets scary. Rick Perry sucks!!!!!

Hello, this links to a crappy blog site that has not grounding in real news. I call complete BS on this one. Surprising it made it to the top of the news.
This should be taken out of the news. Where are the moderators of the news group on this...obviously out to lunch as usual. These moderators are a bunch of morons. They have the same four stories featured for the past three weeks.
This news group is getting really pathetic...and its a direct reflection on the moderators.

i think i agree with you. on the one hand, the story is suspicious but i personally wouldn't immediately discount it, for the reasons outlined above.
but I hate censorship. I think this practice of removing articles like this from the news category and putting it in comedy reeks of an agenda by liberal censors. it would do more good to just let people read it and decide on their own what value it has (or not)
You know people, for years I doubted the whole Leonard Peltier story and thought it was nothing but liberal nonsense, but with time, reading and watching films, I began to rethink the position. Maybe there is something to that story.
and there may be a nugget of truth in this one. we'll just have to keep it in the back of our mind and see if additional info surfaces. if it turns out to be bullshit, oh well.
but CENSORSHIP is un-American, I can't even imagine liberals disagreeing with that.

no, by now I've read enuf of your posts to know that you're "all over the map" so to speak. We tend to disagree often but I don't think you're a nutter either way.
and on this one we are of a mind.
I posted an blog article I had written a couple of days ago about Obama's possible problems due to the Sestak. The article was researched and contained links (at the original blog spot, those are lost when you paste them into the interface on Current).
It was "censored" by being moved to "ComedY" exactly as they did here, simply because the censors here don't like the political slant, so they disparage it "anything from curtis is comedy". Pretty fucking open minded, isn't it?
It says a lot about Current, that this kind of power is given to a group who are ALL of the same political mindset. It really begins to look like Current is a propaganda tool, not really a community where opposing viewpoints can be heard, discussed (even ravaged) as we are supposed to do in a democracy.
No surprise, I've always thought that about Current
