Super:
I judge people on the quality of the videos they post.
First of all, tony mac-a-ron--e and thats no baloney has a pretty cool hat – you don’t see those much anymore. Next, what is up with the weapons of crass destruction? The object on your hand in the early portion of the video - is this the Hand Sickle of Judgment? Also, when you state, and I’m paraphrasing here, that if the right hand doesn’t get you, the left hand will, you actually refer to the wrong hands in the video. (Perhaps this is all part of the act.) And only the poor video quality prevents us from knowing whether or not those are authentic Samurai swords in the second half of the clip. For your neighbors’ sake, I hope they are fakes.
There are some editing sequences that are pretty damn good for an amateur, if I can call Super Ed this. Some time was probably spent on getting them, well, “correct”, if not quite “right”. The sunglass montage works, the hat sequence does not, and the scarf thing could have been left out completely (not a fan of mimed silliness – I’m thinking Red Skeleton sans dentist – and an out of character laugh later in the video almost raises the dead Red). I did like the rapid-fire “Huh? Huh?” of the overly adorned tony. And the “cuffs of their pants” riff was mildly amusing as well.
So…we judge a person on the deeds they do while they are here on earth, and by the effect of these deeds upon others. And the means by which these deeds are carried out are not to be ignored. Or is this the most important thing? We really don’t know, because the message is muddled. When you say something is the bottom line, you’re saying it’s the most important thing, right? So is Super Ed a “means justify the ends” guy? The way he picks up the Hand Sickle of Judgment at the end of the video makes me wonder. And it also makes me wonder about those Samurai swords…
FINAL GRADE: 4.0 (out of 10.0)
Poor video quality and a muddled message pull down this too quirky to ignore artist. Is he Uncle Floyd…or Travis Bickle?
