Anti-Defamation League, the big bully on the block

Like a recurring nightmare, the Anti-Defamation League is back, this time with over 100 billboards in Greater Boston promoting the group’s “anti-bullying” program. As we’ll see, the real bully is the national ADL.

Recall that a few years ago the ADL’s alleged anti-bias program, “No Place for Hate,” was tossed out (NoPlaceforDenial.com) by Watertown, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Easton, Lexington, Medford, Needham, Newburyport, Newton, Northampton, Peabody, Somerville, Westwood, and the Massachusetts Municipal Association.

It has long conspired with Turkey – which bullies its ethnic and religious minorities, journalists, and dissidents – to deny the Armenian genocide of 1915-23 committed by Turkey, and to bully Congress into not bringing an Armenian genocide resolution to a fair vote.

The ADL, of course, promotes Holocaust recognition and reacts vociferously against perceived acts of anti-Semitism. Yet it displays gross insensitivity by collaborating with a major human rights violator, Turkey, to block recognition of another ethnic group’s genocide. Can such an organization be trusted to design humane, fact-based programs, whether about anti-bullying or called “No Place for Hate”? The answer is obvious.

And suppose a school system adopts the ADL’s alleged anti-bullying curriculum. Sooner or later, students and parents will discover that it was created by a group that doesn’t practice what it preaches. Duplicity is not a value that schools should be teaching.

Let’s be frank: The ADL has a political agenda. Fortunately, since every Massachusetts school district was required to adopt an anti-bullying curriculum by January 1, the state has many fine such programs that, unlike the ADL’s, aren’t politically motivated.

yeah um that isnt a double standard unless you think racist speech should just be accepted.
im sorry jews are more tenatious about not taking shit than other groups, but it isnt our fault the irish dont mind being called alcoholics.

maybe, just maybe, i know its crazy, but simply just dont make statements about any group thus avoiding even being confronted for it.just a thought.

all speech must be tolerated, but not accepted.other wise that would make fox news right when they lie.

racism of the western powers? or common sense to support those who are against those who are against us?cuz i remember us pouring various forms or aid and support to various arab nations based only on who we thought was on our political side.everything else be damned.it wasnt like we had a racial bias against russia when we supported the afghanis against them right?

there is definitely no double standard.the kkk still exist openly as well as myriads of other hate groups that live to destroy jews.mel gibson still has quite the profitable career despite being the scummiest fuck to ever walk the earth.helen thomas is still out there yapping away.david duke is still in government legislating against jews.everyone has the right, with out infringement to say what ever they like about whom ever they like.but equaly the rest of us has a right to react accordingly.not a double standard but a matter of cause and effect.wich in all reality is slight, cuz if we really had the authority the haters claim we do, el gibson would be getting ass raped daily in la county jail.

it isnt as black and white as helen talked shit and got nailed while other do the same and get away with it.the nature of what they say matters in evaluating it.who they are saying things on behalf of matter too.and what body goes after the person matters.for instance ya got people like bill oriely who say racist shit about blacks.but when sharpton goes after him it ruins the ability for anything to come from it cuz no one (even in the black community) wants to stand on the same side with sharpton.but at the same time ask yourself what happened to micheal richards after his nigger rant.unlike mel gibson he is never to be heard from again.a lot of shades of grey exist in this.like the fact that helen got let go for making statements (regardless aimed at whom ever) that ran counter to what the organization that employed her held as policy.she would have found herself just as fired had she praised jews while working for the aryan fron newsletter.

speaking of imus, he got cancer.and i dont know if you have access to our morning radio markets, but fellow dj's are rejoicing in the name of karma for imus's disgusting racism.check out "bubba the love sponge" in reference to this.he has like a dozen parody songs basking in imus's suffering cuz imus is racist.

you are a poopy head if that helps get past the petty issue.lol

take iraq for instance.if not for iran hating us so actively we would not have acknowledged saddam hussien.granted we did prop up the shah.but at the same time, the iranians could have thrown off western influence, like egypt did, with out making us the demonized foil.and actively holding passive american citizens hostage.making iran the aggressor between the two of us.thus making our distant support of saddam hussien the result.not cuz iraq offered us any resources despite having them.
afghanastan(in the 80's) is another example of our intervention.granted it was part of the larger cold war with russia.but it wasnt like we backed up the afghanis only if we could plunder them.as we were out as soon as possible after it was over.

i agree with you that much of the suffering we have endured is a result of our own bullshit.from vietnam to korea, to present day afghanistan and iraq.but as a global power, we do have to look at who will pose a threat to our status if they are successful.making whom ever they are against a begrudging allie.it isnt as if we shared any other reason to support saddam aside from a mutual view of iran as an enemy.but supporting iraq it allowed us (mistakenly) to deal demage to iran without putting our necks on the line.that is common sense as far i can see it.

to do nothing would be stupid.and to directly get involved would also have been disasterous.a myriad of other middle of the road options existed that in the end probably would have served ourt long term goals better than supporting saddam.but it was of the reasonable moves to make at the time.

after gibsons rant on the jews, he made the passion of the christ with netted millions as well as apacolyptica wich also was crazy successfull.since then he has been back in the fold making movies.i honestly cant go into detail on it cuz i hate him with such a passion i avoid him like the plague.so i havent a clue about what he is promoting.but i do know he has been pissed at the same old questions being brought up about his hate speech when he is trying to do press junkets for his new movies.wich are studio funded btw.

only since his nigger tyraid has he been actualy shunned at all.

im not proud of how i feel in regards to mel.i know full well that my feelings about mel are on the wrong side of the emotional spectrum, way at the unhealthy extreme.but it is none the less how i feel.ask around or check my efforts and you will see im seldom such a base creature.but every now and again thier are figures who if subjected to that wich would normaly offend me, i take delight in.no horror is great enough to inspire the slightest inkling of sympathy or pity for mel.im not proud but i am honest.
