      Yeah, I know - you'd think . . . .but my site and comments are apparently not on speaking terms with each other. I'm not so sure people are crazy about history. Oh well. Yes, it would be nice to have leaders fluent in many languages - it would probably do wonders for Foreign Policy. But sadly, we don't seem to be into that in this country. When you have a wanna-be Presidential hopeful who can't even figure out her own language, I would say we are in deep detritus.

    • wow, no comments? 50 years have passed since those days in Paris, Jackie, of course clearly demonstrated to America, how vital it is to learn a second or even a third language. She honored the people in France by speaking French, and that gesture still resonates today. Somehow we must begin to have leaders who are fluent in at minimum two languages.
