A report for the Institute of Medicine has recommended that birth control, sterilization and reproductive education be completely covered with no cost to patients under the health care reform law. In addition to these services, which help women avoid unwanted pregnancies and space births, the group also recommended covering HIV testing, breastfeeding support and well-woman visits for preventive care.
