- Description
- The Director of Broadcast Engineering is a department head, responsible for managing a global team of Broadcast Engineers, overseeing their maintenance, problem-solving, and special project activities. We’re not just looking for a Chief Engineer, we need a business owner who can report to executives and organize and lead a team.
- Responsibilities
- Instill proper organizational and engineering procedures in the group, write up and enforce SOP’s
- Lend engineering expertise to thorny problems
- Oversee project management of special projects, either directly or through delegation to project leads
- Approve spending of certain budget line items, and reconcile spending to a budget
- Communicate team progress to senior management
- Guide and build the talents and careers of those who report to you
- Take an active role in defining our broadcast technology architecture for the future
- Skills
- Brilliant organizational skills and strategies
- Excellent written communication skills
- Team leadership experience
- Extensive background in broadcast engineering, including IT-based systems in the following areas:
-Studios (sets and greenscreen stages, with live and non live digital workflows
-Field Gear, particularly for backpack-style small units
-Post Production, focusing on Final Cut Studio, AfterEffects, and Pro Tools
-Playout and Automation systems- Experience with Macintosh and/or file-based facilities a plus
