Vice President, Product Management

Description
The Vice President, Product Management reports to the President, New Media and is responsible for the overall product direction of Current's new media product line.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategy and execution for all aspects of Current’s New Media product line, including Current.com, distributed online content (widgets), and mobile platforms
- Develop product roadmap and requirements that flow from an intimate understanding of user needs, competitive landscape, market research, and creative thinking
- Connect Current.com experience with the search and social media ecosystem, driving platform requirements, SEO strategies, and integration with social networks, social news sites, and discovery engines
- Team with Editor-in-Chief and Editorial team to develop a leading-edge content platform that supports a simple, high-quality content consumption and sharing experience
- Work closely with Programming to develop compelling new cross-platform (TV/web) offerings and effectively showcase TV content on Current.com.
- Team with Ad Sales to build Current’s online advertising business, driving revenue growth and creating monetization opportunities while maintaining an excellent consumer experience
- Work closely with Marketing and other departments to effectively position Current and our online products to maintain a leadership standing in the marketplace.
- Establish product line success metrics measures and work with Analytics to report progress against success metrics
- Manage a team of internal product management, design, and engineering resources
Skills
- 5-10 years’ experience in consumer internet Product Management roles of increasing responsibility
- Innovative thinker who will bring new ideas and forward-thinking product vision to the company. 
- Experience in online content, community, and video domains
- Hands-on manager who wants to roll up his/her sleeves and tirelessly focus on both the big picture as well as the details and nuances of product design and consumer experience
- Demonstrated success scaling a website to millions of monthly users
- Previous experience managing Product Managers and UI Designers
- Experience managing to metrics, using data and technology to build and optimize compelling user experiences
- Proven track record of inspiring a large and diverse group of internal and external constituents
- Passion for working in a multi-platform (TV/web) company and product environment
- Positive, optimistic attitude, high degree of intrinsic motivation and ability to operate with high energy and flexibility
- Entrepreneurial spirit a must; entrepreneurial experience a plus.
- BA/BS required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
