Reporting to the SVP, Marketing, th Reporting to the SVP, Marketing, the President of Ad Sales Marketing will drive efforts to continue Current’s position as an innovative and client-focused partner. The finalist will be accountable for increasing advertising and sponsorship sales revenues by developing marketing programs and materials and advertising products and services. The successful candidate will establish sales marketing strategies and create advertising sales marketing plans and related goals. S/he leads long-term strategic thinking and develops and executes cutting-edge initiatives. Working closely with the Advertising Sales team s/he will be a key participant that defines and executes the custom solutions strategies for Current.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Lead the development of strategic and innovative multi-platform initiatives to generate ad sales revenue (includes product integration, promotions and sponsorships)
- The finalist will leverage his/her rolodex of relationships at the most senior decision making level to understand the needs of the Clients and develop custom solutions.
- Negotiate complex deals, often at the most senior level, that affect major aspects of advertising sales performance
- Balance client goals and requests against the Current brand lens
- Identify and evaluate key marketplace trends; seek opportunities for Current to create relevant advertiser offerings
- Partner with Research to continually develop compelling case studies and positioning
- Understand all new products and the role they play in the needs of CMO’s targeting the sought after audience.
- Provide leadership to sales on emerging online and television advertising trends, ad innovation, and competitive practices
- Work with programming to strategically schedule sponsorship opportunities/programming events
- Work with creative team in effective execution of sales collateral, premiums, and initiatives to be delivered to ad sales and clients as necessary
- Continually evaluate and adjust sales marketing strategy and plans to meet changing advertising and sponsorship sales landscape, distribution channels and markets
- Work with Current Marketing on development of advertising trade campaigns, industry events, and sponsorships geared towards the advertising marketplace.
- Develop upfront presentation strategy and messaging plan; liaise with internal teams to implement
- Be responsible for planning, monitoring and submission of department budget
- Manage and develop sales marketing team through hands-on leadership
- Work with Current PR to develop advertising success stories involving Current and marketing partners in key trade journals read by brand marketers and media buyers
- Develop quantifiable measurements for quality and responsiveness and relentlessly pursue excellence in each of these arenas.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have a relevant rolodex of Client Direct/ Agency relationships. The finalist should have a proven track record of using creative marketing solutions to develop long term partnerships with customers. Ability to bring programs to market efficiently and effectively and identify metrics by which to track results is key.
Additionally the ideal candidate will be/have:
- 10 + years of experience in sales marketing or marketing within entertainment and online media, preferably at a cable network
- Demonstrated leadership skills to manage deals cross-functionally and cross-platform
- Superior analytical skills; ability to interpret numbers and research into meaningful conclusions and/or recommendations
- Extensive multi-media experience with strong understanding of digital and interactive marketing campaigns
- Knowledge of the on air/television production process
- Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence change and manage deadlines and priorities across organizations
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively to diverse and varied audiences include advertisers and partners
- Detail-oriented but also able to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSThe successful candidate will first and foremost be a savvy, fire-in-the-belly ad sales marketing executive with a track of record of success for developing innovative programs and customized solutions for Client Partners. Ability to think quickly based on a discipline of constantly educating oneself about the opportunities at the client, a key element of success in this post.
This executive will be willing to put in the hours necessary for accomplishment, including travel as necessary, and will have the energy, drive and enthusiasm to succeed in this key position. Finally, this individual will demand of himself/herself and others the highest level of personal and professional integrity.
