The temporary position of Post Support Engineer requires a qualified candidate that will be responsible for overseeing the care and feeding of our post-production systems at Current, as well as the development of future systems and workflows. The position is based out of Los Angeles but will require sporadic travel to our San Francisco headquarters.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Give good customer service to editors and the post department, with proactive action, quick response, follow-through, and a positive attitude
· Create, own change control of, and deploy builds for editing, mixing, and GFX workstations, and troubleshoot performance and uptime issues with same
· Test new versions of software for compatibility with our systems and workflows
· Scope, test, quote, purchase, and build post-related hardware, such as CPU’s, monitors, video cards, etc.
· Troubleshooting post systems that are in production, coming up with workarounds as well as permanent solutions
· Configure and maintain transcoding workflows in our systems
· Maintain DVD burning and printing robots and the workflows surrounding them
· Assist with current vendor relationships
· Liaison with core network and storage support personnel to enumerate Post priorities in those arenas
Qualifications:
· Top notch engineering brain – ability to figure out a solution from fundamentals
· Deep knowledge of Final Cut Studio and ProTools workflows in a professional setting
· Knowledge of digital video fundamentals and transcoding tools, specific experience with Digital Rapids, Compressor, and Anystream a plus
· Diplomatic, precise, and thorough phone and email communications skills, including quick response to initial requests and status follow-ups
· Ability to multitask superbly
· Must work well with others, a team player
