The duo has been featured in full-page features in NYLON GUYS, FLAUNT, Angeleno, LA.DIRECT, 944, and most recently, INTERVIEW Magazine and L'UOMO Vogue. Max and Jason were also invited to lead panel discussions on citizen journalism at The Paley Center for Media in New York, formerly The Museum of Television and Radio, and short-form film making at the South By Southwest Film Festival.

Lugavere, who hails from New York City, earned a degree in film and psychology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Silva, from Caracas, Venezuela, earned a degree in film and philosophy from the same school. The two, who were best friends at school, produced and starred in a video documentary/performance piece entitled "Textures of Selfhood"—an experimental film about hedonism and spirituality. "The Party-Philosophers" and "Intellectual Hedonists" of Current TV, aptly named by Angeleno Magazine, borrowed the name for the film from the Hedonistic Imperative, a website promoting the end to human suffering by philosopher David Pearce. The film made it to the desk of Current TV President of Programming, David Neuman, who referred to it as "the Citizen Kane of the [4000 submission] applicant pool." They were flown out to Los Angeles, and offered full time jobs anchoring and producing content for the network.

Interview Magazine took note that the duo "embody the energetic, one-man-band approach [to storytelling] that the network aims to empower." They have covered widely ranging stories- from illegal immigration and counterfeit IDs, to profiling a brave new singer songwriter right before signing a publishing deal, to a taped philosophical sit-down with director Darren Aronofsky. Their story on counterfeit IDs even earned them a featured appearance and interview on Anderson Cooper 360. Max and Jason- the first-name-only handle by which they are known to Current TV viewers- produce content in a voice that is distinctly unique, often juxtaposing a heightened filmmaking aesthetic with bold and intelligent topics. The results are a compelling product, which as The Internet Examiner put it, is proof that "Current is getting it just right."

  Wired: How did you prepare for this transcontinental broadcast? Lots of Red Bull?
  
  Lugavere: Lots of sleep actually. This is the first time we've ever hosted in front of a live audience.
  
  Wired: Where are you based during the broadcast?
  
  Silva: We will physically be in Los Angeles, although during the broadcast we refer to it as Pangea Central.
  Lugavere: Physically in L.A. but our voices will be heard in 150 plus countries. Quite a trip.
