love this one. Tibetins are some of the most peaceful people i've ever seen. The olm, a symbol in the tibetin language, of peace, has had great meaning to me and many other people in my community. It's just an example of the nature of these people. China needs to lay off tibet, and just accept the fact that they can't control everyone. China should let tibet to be their own nation, just as England should let Ireland be.

This piece depicts the dire situation in Tibet. I recall reading some of Dali Lama's book, but never have I seen a visual representation of oppression in Tibet. The impacts of soft power, and globalization is crazy to me...there is a sharp contrast between the coors light beer girls vs. the fight to preserve buddhist culture, and life...
Very well done...

China killed thousands of Tibetans. Now they are taking over the land and economy. Tibet is being raped and the world doesn't give a sh..t. This is the world we live in. Questioning this fact is like questioning global warming.

great pod// presents the "real Tibet" and the issues facing the tibetan people inside tibet. China is sino-cizing tibet and aims to exterminate Tibetan culture and identity -now, especially with the recently built railway connecting China to Tibet & the huge influx of Han chinese into tibet. *In Lhasa, Tibet''s capital Chinese people already outnumber Tibetans -but i guess to the world the Tibetan people and their identity is expendable.

Another fine pod, Adrian but I must disagree journalistically and historically with how you worded one important line. Mao's war wasn't on "spirituality" Mao's war was on elite monks in a campaign of communisim. They destroyed the monastic schools not because of a hate for Buddhism but because the schools were bastions of wealth-hording--severly crippling the peasants who were forced to feed the monks. If you know my work you know I sympathize with Buddhists and Tibetans (See pod Whose Sacred Land) I just want people to understand the authenticity of Mao's reasons for destroying the monasteries. Awful and ruthful but nonetheless coming from an ideology of communalism and wealth sharing.
