    • First of all, Iran is a Shia country, which means all religious laws are made by the Imams, so called islamic leaders, who barely know the Quran. It doesnt make sense forbiding homosexuality but allowing transexuality! You are still the same person! The Shia leaders of Iran interprut things their own way because some of them are basically homosexual. No religion in the world accepts homosexuality, if you were christian homosexual/transexual, you are considered a sinner, and if you were a muslim homosexual/transexual, you are considered a sinner. Homosexuality and religion never agree. They dont allow sex before marriage, but allow "fun marraige", which is basically a marraige that ranges from an hour to forever, so u can "fun marry" someone, have sex for an hour, and then never meet again! Its a hipocritical country full of corruption. Iran isnt a Muslim country!

    • Iran has the largest number of transgender surgeries in the world, becasue it is FORCED on anyone who admits to being a homosexual. They claim there are NO homosexuals in IRAN, because if they find any, they force them to become the other sex. This is a disgusting and horrific practice.

Transgender is only appropriate for those who feel like they are trapped in the body of the wrong sex. This is very different from being homosexual or bisexual. We are all part of the Sexual Minority Community, the largest groups being Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, and Transgendered (GLBT). To take a homosexual man and FORCE him into a woman's body, to cut off his penis, is an abomination, just as it is to take a Lesbian and cut-off her breasts and force her to be a Man.

Being able to get government support and public support for VOLUNTARY Transgender surgery is a wonderful thing. But there is much more to this story than you are may be aware of.

Iran says you must be a male or female, but not homosexual.

Iran is the face of inhumanity and the forced horrific mutilation of homosexuals. This is not what ISLAM is about. I also do not believe that all Iranians support this, but the Iranian Government does.

    • Great documentary. I thought it was an educated and interesting response concerning the Islam faith, homosexuality and transexuality.

    • I'm a trans guy and I think it's very cool that people in Iran have the courage to stand up for what they think is right and that someone listened and documented it on video.

    • If you have the opportunity to go to Iran, shouldnt you make a documentary about something more relavent than transsexuals? after all, it is a country that is heard about on tv but no body really knows much about it. it would better time spent talking about a more relavent topics regarding iran than transexuals, like seriously, there has to be more to make a documentary about than this.

    • I''m not sure how transsexuality is NOT a valid or important topic in any country today. I commend your work and daring to speak to an issue that gathers international scrutiny and is vastly underapproached and underserved everywhere - especially in Iran, where, though more pressing issues are at hand, it''s vital to look closer at local views and local problems while taking a break from national ones.

    • So when i was in Thailand I heard a story about a top ranked muay thai fighter who was fighting to pay for his/her sex change operation. They made a cool movie about it. Check out this youtube clip.
