Much of the reporting that we see on the American occupation in Iraq lacks unfiltered perspectives form the Iraqi people themselves. We recently came across the work of Iraqi film director Hayder Mousa Daffar. Hayder has been recording the impact of war on his people since it began in 2003. In this excerpt, he asks some very difficult questions about the American presence in his country. To help find answers, he interviews two ex-army officers with strikingly different opinions about the current occupation.

    • Check out a review of "Dreams of Sparrows", the documentary by Hayder. He's really exposing people to what life is like on the other side.
