    • As someone who has occasionally daydreamed about escaping the United States for an imagined pseudo-socialist paradise of approximately hexagonal shape located in western Europe, I was sorry to see Sarko win. But maybe he'll be good for the country. (Maybe.)

    • While technically legal in France, prostitution is heavily affected by crackdowns on the activities surrounding it. Sarkozy is a hardliner about this stuff, and many think he's planning on abolishing prostitution altogether.

    • Nikolas Sarkozy won the French election (sorry if I spoiled anything for those not familiar with the French political scene) but even though he won by a fairly wide margin, there's still unrest in France over his victory.
