Its funny but i always thougt cops were taught submission techniques. I've only been in martial arts for a short time and even i can think of at least three techniques that could have been applied in a situation like that, besides wat was it, like 4-to-1? I say the kid had the right to defend himself.

The brand-name stun gun gained new notoriety last month when Andrew Meyer, a 21-year-old student, scuffled with University of Florida police and uttered his now infamous entreaty "Don't tase me, bro!" just moments before he, in fact, got tased. The rather dramatic incident spawned a catchy new anti-establishment anthem, picked up and repeated mostly by college students. But it has also renewed questions about whether Tasers pose any danger, and whether the police are using them too often.

"I know you dont want to hear it. You cant face one more hung chad. But I dont have a choice. As a journalist examining that messy sausage called American democracy, its my job to tell you who got the most votes in the deciding states. Tuesday, in Ohio and New Mexico, it was John Kerry."

duct-taping his mouth would have been more effective... and have any of you ever checked out Greg Palast's work thoroughly? I admit that I haven't, but he comes across as a bit of a self-promoter and I'm not sure he delivers the goods he promises. I remember after the 2004 election he wrote an article along the lines of "Bush Lost. Here's the Proof" that was pretty underwhelming considering its bold title... And this video really didn't give me much confidence that Kerry would have stopped the Iraq War, when he couldn't do anything to stop this situation from getting out of hand.

I'd feel more sorry for him if he were less obnoxious. But if he were less obnoxious, he wouldn't have been tasered in the first place.

The police acknowledge that "employing a Taser gun would only be justified in a case where there was a threat of physical harm to officers." Were three officers at any risk against one loud and unruly (but not threatening) college student? Sick and disgusting police brutality.

Follows the arrest with a shaky cell phone on the other side of the auditorium, but with closer shots of the actual tasering.
