Twin bombs targeting former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto killed at least 105 people on Thursday just hours after her emotional return to the country brought an end to eight years in exile.

Bhutto was unhurt, narrowly escaping with her life as the blasts ripped through the police escort of her homecoming parade through the streets of Karachi, which were thronged with hundreds of thousands of her supporters.

Hospital officials said there were also around 200 people injured in the blasts, which were believed to have been carried out by suicide bombers, and 20 policemen were said to be among the dead.
