Markets say "Gore would obliterate any of them, were he to run."

According to Robin Hanson of Portfolio.com, Al Gore is the most electable erm candidate beating Hillary, all the Democrats, Giuliani and all the Republicans.
Seems you Americans are ready to get serious. Be nice to have you back in the Reality based community.
Quoting from said piece:
"Which means that InTrade's traders reckon Gore has a 58% chance of getting the nomination if he runs, and an 89% chance of winning the presidency if he's nominated, and an all-over probability of 52% that he'll become president if he throws his hat in the ring."
The blog article goes on to say:
"Meanwhile, the favorite for president, Hillary Clinton, has already thrown her hat in the ring, and is given a 48% chance of becoming president. (Giuliani's in a distant second place, on 17.6%.) Which means, I think, that Al Gore is considered to be the best presidential candidate in America, on a pure electability criterion."
He also just happens to be the best qualified person for the office.
Socrates said that any person who sought political office too readily was to be mistrusted. He said that only a person who sought office because they feared what others may do with it was acting from good intentions. Those Greeks, eh?
I recommend putting "The Assault on Reason" on your reading list btw. Some helpful hints in there for restoring the Constitution, saving democracy and so forth.
Cheerio.

Jan, why are you going around the internet claiming you are "for" Gore when you are so obviously against him? If you are "campaigning" for the planet, then why not go do something that helps the planet, rather than following real Gore supporters and harrassing them around the internet? Step away from teh keyboard and go plant a tree or something useful!

Sorry, I'm campaigning for the planet. The presidency can do nothing effective for it without support from more people regarding this crisis and from a Congress not beholden to corporations. This supposedly "democratic" majority congress can't even hold Bush accountable now. Yeah, real promising.

To save American democracy as well as to deal with the climate crisis we NEED to convince Al Gore that he must enter the presidential race. Get ready to go to
New Hampshire with your sleeping bag -- sleep on
local Gore supporters' floors, and CAMPAIGN, going
door to door, or on the phone, or on street corners
with signs. Even if it's a write-in campaign, Gore can
do well enough to gain momentum as others lose it.

Son of a gun! An article about Al Gore actually made it to a (not "the") front page. I was beginning to think Current might be playing a bit free with filtering... Glad to see I was apparently wrong.
