Huh?
I was pretty sure the report said they stopped trying to make nuclear weapons, and wouldn't have enough to make a bomb for 3 more years at least On the other hand...3 years is not a long time!

Ahmadinejad is not the leader of Iran, he is just its president with very little actual power. The real leader of Iran is Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei - Ahmadinejad is a figurehead.

A "nuclear country" is not a country which has nuclear weapons, it is a country which has nuclear energy plants.

Bush has known for about a year about the report. He just really, really wants to use a nuke. They were doing the same thing as they did before Iraq, trying to scare us into letting them attack yet another country. Still at it trying to out shout the report. Bush's war mongering is the reason Iran has Ahmadinejad in office. The Iranians are afraid of us so they elected a big mouth nut for President. We better force impeachment of Cheney, then don't confirm whoever Bush chooses to replace him, then impeach Bush. Quit playing political games and get them out now.

Excellent point Jbianchard87!!
Unfortunately, the media at the behest of this administration and special interest groups (with their own agenda apart from what is best for the United States) have played heavily on American's naivete and ignorance of different cultures - despite being a very diverse culture.
Such deception is in itself, an act of terrorism and betrays everyone's trust. When elected officials willfully take part in it, it is akin to treason since clearly it isn't in the best interest's of Americans or America as a whole.
What a different world it was / would be when we sought to understand others, rather than dominate them - at least when I thought it was that way.

We all, including the media, the government, and our selves, must to be hip to the fact that Ahmadinejad's words and statements are in an entirely different language and ideology. Because Iran's culture and language is different from ours, the connotations of foreign linguistic and social syntagms are easily mis-interpreted and can be re-framed even by accident.
Question everything!!!!

That is how I saw this story too VoyagerFIlms. It is a bit confusing at first glance. ...not that I can get behind anyone pushing nuclear energy as a good thing.

What is the big deal. He wasn't referring to being a country with nuclear weapons, but to nuclear power, i.e., energy!?
No wonder Bushenney is in office.
You have responded adversely based on the headline and the slant, or framing of what Iran's President said, in the article - an intentional attempt to prejudice your perception.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a patriotic American, but if we are so easily mislead by such manipulation, who knows, maybe we'd get lead into a war or something under false pretenses. Ha! That could never happen.

I swear he's on the payroll of the secret society of warmongers led by Dick Cheney. People always say that Cheney, et. al. want to keep the attendance list of the 2001 Energy Task Force meetings secret because it's all big oil CEOs, etc., but I say it's because Ahmadinejad was there getting his orders to destabilize the Middle East and pave the way for a US invasion!!

He is screwing with us and the world. He's nuts. Be glad the world is ignoring his insanity much the way they try to ignore Bush's insanity. The people of Iran don't deserve to be bombed because their leader is nuts, nor do we. I think they will rid themselves of him, I hope we can get loose of Bush.

That is totally confusing. Is he reading the same report we are? Or are we being fed a bunch more baloney? Check out what other people are saying on this current thread too. What do you think about Ahmadinejad's victory comment?
