Fear halts anonymous greeting cards for troops

Hundreds of letters addressed to "Any Wounded Soldier," will not reach their destination for the holidays.

Since the 9/11 attacks and the anthrax scare the Pentagon and the U.S. Postal Service, have refused to deliver mail that is not to a specific person/soldier. Why? Fear of terrorist, toxic substances in the mail, and demoralizing messages.

Those who send out these letters to thank the soldiers for their service are pained by this rule.

How do you feel?

    • Mail addressed to any soldier won't be delivered, but organizations like AnySoldier.com help you do basically the same thing--they've organized their site so that you can send packages or letters to a soldier who has signed up to represent their unit, and who will then distribute the mail around.
