Very few doubt that Bush and Cheney have wrecked havoc on America and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths throughout the world, but in retrospect, their actions and behavior have been condoned and suppressed by America?s fascist Mainstream News Media - and without their support, The Commander in Thief and Darth Cheney would have been impeached, removed from office, and prosecuted for their crimes years ago if we still had real news and true investigative reporting in the United States.
The MSM, now owned and controlled by corporate America, have betrayed the people, and without their betrayal, the criminal actions of a Presidency that is out of control would have been halted long before they were able to bankrupt our country and compromise the very essence of liberty and freedom! Those who control Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and the huge amount of radio and television stations throughout our country - which are being bought-out by fascist forces that support corporatism and tyranny, are still gaining in strength - and as usual, Fox News, The Republican Learning Channel, constantly leads the charge to change a democratic republic into a fascist and authoritarian state. Our anti-trust laws have been ignored and changed to allow the enemies of freedom to flourish, while individual rights are now severely curtailed and are disappearing almost as fast as the wealth and integrity that once made America the world?s most respected superpower.
"For the past several years I have been telling anyone that would listen, mainstream news media are co-conspirators to this administration, putting America in Constitutional Crisis.
America is at a turning point, we are either governed by the Constitution and the 'Rule of Law' or we are not. We are in the process of setting precedence for future governance.
.
Our future Presidents are no longer obligated to uphold the Constitution and the Rule of Law. The signing statements and presidential whims now supersede the Constitution and the 'Rule of Law'. This President and mainstream media have made a mockery of the 'Oath of Office'. The President swears to uphold the Constitution and the 'Rule of Law'? Who will write the new Oath? Will they include the verbiage; "The Constitution and Rule of Law are now open to the President's interpretation"?
Mainstream media survives via sponsors! Sponsors survive via consumers! Consumers and democracy survive via honesty in jornalism! As consumers we have more power than we are lead to believe. We need to turn the channel when mainstream media spins fact and spin as equal. *Facts are facts*, *spin is - spin distorting facts*! We need to take back our airwaves and demand honesty in jornalism via the power of the purse! Money talks, spin walks!

I fully expect Bush intends to use Blackwater to keep us under control when he invokes martial law and decides we aren't going to have an election. By the time people catch on we are living in a dictatorship, it will be too late. His private military is bigger and better equipped than ours.

Well-said, Jupiter 1.
I knew when I saw the notice of the hearing, it would be simply a hearing they held solely in order to comply with their rule-making protocol.
NEVER was the outcome in doubt and never was the testimony heard during the hearing ever to be heeded.
They were simply going through the motions to comply with the process. Like most federal agencies under his administration, the input of the people is NEVER a factor.
With probably 99% of the comments OPPOSED to the rukle change, they adopted it anyway.

Not to be too wordy, I meant a state of semi-permanent war not semi permanent law. That was a typo. Jupiter1

The topic of the day on everyones lips should be about media consolidation and concentration. On Dec. 18th Kevin Martin, our to be feared leader of the FCC called a vote on very short notice to further open up media concentration. It is now possible for large media companys like Rupert Murdochs "News Corporation" to buy a television, radio station, and newspaper in the same marketplace. It passed, even though the nation let him know that they wanted a delay in the vote. He totally ignored Senators like John Kerry, even Trent Lott was opposed. There is a total disconnect between the three branches of government, with the executive branch setting itself apart, and above the judicial and the houses of Congress. There is a total disconnect between the people of this nation and the leader of this country. They don't appear to care at all what we want. What is happening is a fascist shift. We are losing our democracy, and with it goes our freedom, and liberty. The plan to remain in semi-permanent law is an end run around the constitution. Add the patriot act, and the Military Commissions Act on top of all the rest and we had all better wake up quickly and get involved. Even the rhetoric they are using is scary, with terms like "homeland" and "city on the hill" and the whole thing smacks of disaster for us and the people of this globe who don't own a corporation. Mussolini called fascism "Corporatism" Think about it. We thought an election occurred in 2000 and 2004, but what really happened appears to be a coup d'etat. The country we now live in barely resembles the land you and I grew up in. Americans didn't torture people, or render them to foreign countries where it could happen. We are at the mercy of a leadership that has the largest standing private army in the world. "Blackwater" those guys are like the Brownshirts of the third reich. Those contractors they talk about in Iraq are not rebuilding the country, they are thugs and mercenaries, and they kill people. I wonder when crystalnacht will take place? The scapegoats of the regime are "illegal aliens" and gay people. I am sad, and it is scary. Jupiter1

Coinniepae and MM - right on! We will hunker down and bunker up behind our keyboards. They'll never get mine without a fight!
I would call my representatives once a day and complain but I'm from a red state with two Nazi's for Senators and a card-carrying "Corporatist" for a Congressional representative.
Any more calls to their offices and they'll keep me from preaching on Sundays.
Seriously, it would be so easy for them to do by conspiring with the big telecommunications providers to shut down protest - it is a scary thought indeed and not too far afield.
Let's hope exposing the Emporer's non-clothes becomes some sort of reality TV show - like "Survivor Impeachment Island" starring Bush and Dick.
May George Bush bless you and keep you. May he cause his face to shine upon you and give you peace. Amen and Amen and Shondala Hondala Fondala Rhondala ---- Oh and may he leave our internetS alone.

Exactly right. They are working full time to destroy the Internet. They would have finished us off long ago if we didn't have the Internet. We have no newspapers, we have no television news, and very little on the radio. If we lose the Internet there will be no truth at all.
