    • This is what people need to know. How families are affected by the war. I think it is an amazing thing that people are hearing what the soldiers feel about what is happening to them.

    • I'm sorry, but this really bugged me. I'm so sick of soldiers complaining about deployments. It does not matter whether you join active duty, reserves, or guard in any branch...you are joining the MILITARY. You deploy. Period. War time or peace time, you deploy. These guys on this pod must have had to join or re-up after 9/11 and the deployments to the desert started, if they didn't want to deploy, why did they?
Don't get me wrong, I understand their frustration, I'm prior service and my husband is still active duty. We have two kids and my husband has deployed 3 times in 5 years, I know it sucks. But that's their job. They CHOSE to do it, why are they complaining about it now?

    • 57% of all U.S. troops in Iraq are either National Guard or Reserve, not the full-time military. And by the way... the two national guardsmen that I interviewed in this piece deployed last week.
