Hillary Didn't Find Her Voice, She Was Channelling Expediency

It might have been a good sound bite, but Senator Clinton's opening remark in her victory speech - that the campaign in New Hampshire helped her "find her voice" - was the unintentional opening of a window into the slippery and opportunistic truth of her campaign.

    • Yes, it does sound a lot like Hillary was looking at what was working in other campaigns and just started repeating it. In the New Hampshire debates Edwards scored major points by talking about how his fight against poverty was personal. Edwards (and also Obama) talked about how you had to take policies personally. I couldn't help but notice Hillary scribbling on her legal pad as Edwards talked. (Note to self: start talking about how you have struggled with poverty all your life. Or something like that. Also, use the word "change" a lot. Seems to be working for the boys). I don't think anyone really thinks Hillary cares about poverty or the working poor in the same way Edwards does. She is just saying whatever she has to say to win.
