Barack Obama is being endorsed by fellow Sen. John Kerry, the Democrats' 2004 presidential nominee who lost to George W. Bush that year with John Edwards as his running mate and gave up his own plans for a 2008 run a year ago.

    • Dear Al Gore,

I am with you 100% that we need to save the planet.

And that what our problem is, is not innovation, but political will.

As you have seen, only Barack Obama has the ability to rally the political will of the people to believe in something bigger than themselves.

If you want to see this country pick up your flag for saving the planet, Barack Obama gives us the best chance to do that.

Believe me. i didn't care hardly at all about politics until Barack Obama came along, and I'm 30 years old now. He inspires me and millions of others to hope, change believe we can do better.

      Hillary does not.

      The Clintons divide us.

Divided we fall -- and you know it. Our country will be
in an even further stalemate if Hillary gets the nomination, and such a nomination almost ensures a Republican victory.

PLEASE, PLEASE. Mr Gore, I implore you, ask you, beg of you, to throw your support behind Barack Obama, campaign with him -- join him on the trail. tip the scales in his favor. And together we reclaim America's soul, rebuke cynicism, and SAVE OUR PLANET.

      Most Sincerely,

      -Robert

    • Ok so here is what I would like to see happen: Gore comes out to endorse Edwards; Edwards wins the nomination and gets O'bama as a running mate. Then the dems would be set up to be in WH for the next 16 years and O'bama would gain the experience he will need to be president. O'bama is not ready to be president. If he is the nominee, Bloomberg is going to run and the dems lose. That is my prediction. Also wouldn't Gore be an awesone Secretary of Energy in an Edwards administration? If Gore wants to gain political relevance again, he needs to weigh in on this election or he will fade into abscurity. He has had a big year but if he wants to make sweeping change, it will not happen by consulting and sitting on the board of a few companies. He needs to do something bigger.

    • Hmmm, maybe a case of "If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours?"

Politicians love sneaky favours...that's what they're renowned for.

    • I was surprised when I first saw this on MSN.com. It's a good example of returning the favor since Obama gave a speech back in 2004 at the DNC in support of Kerry winning the nomination.

    • think Gore would endorse a Lieberman (I-D-R) run these days? He endorsed Dean last time as I recall...

the more important question is.... who's Mondale endorsing? McGovern?

    • John Kerry did well in the last election but everyone knows and saw that he lost the election because he was unclear on his policies, thoughts, and concerns for this country. In the end, I'm not sure this is really going to help Obama.

    • He is a smart man, showing support for a favored presidental hopeful and hes black. John Kerry is going with the minority to help his career good or bad he will be like "Hey I'm down", not taking anything away from him or Obama, but what would you do in his political positon, run with a loser or run with a hopeful?

    • Proving that this is nothing more than a game of one upmanship and poltical revenge to some. And considering how I feel about John Kerry, I really don't think it's a big deal. Edwards is better off without him.

    • Does John Kerry (we all remember the flip flop, as annoying and irrelevant as that whole argument was) help or hurt Obama?

    • I find this so interesting. John Kerry seemed to have all the faith in the world when he ran with John Edwards in 2004 and now he is not even backing him but his major opponent. Just the other day, as someone who campaigned for Kerry/Edwards, I said I felt Edwards stands on things have seriously changed since 2004...Guess I'm not the only one who thinks so.
