Well, my job here is to critique your video and that is what I will start doing. The first second that the music came on, I muted the video. I like the text and the information, that is the main component to the success of the video. However, there could be a bit more found footage perhaps, but the amount of information to present was also time consuming.
As for all those who are commenting on whether or not God has made himself evident in their lives, if you want to ask someone questions, send me a message. I am concerned to hear about how you have rejected God because you cant make sense of Him. The truth is out there, just start looking and living, because Christ came to offer you life, and life to the fullest. Once you die and "see the light" I can no longer help you, you're on your own.

dear 4therisnkng,
When we say God, we don't mean Jesus. They are different. We understand that. Apparently you don't.
Jesus was a messenger of God, just as Muhammad
was. Buddha was not, and it's obvious you know nothing about Buddhism either. What we were saying is that Western religions tend to worship the same ideal being termed "God."
My favorite concept from Western religion is that when something goes right, it is the work of the Lord, but when the sh*t hits the fan, it's all our fault. God isn't ever to blame. Seems silly, and unfair, doesn't it? But God is righteous, just, and fair... how could this be?
Yes, if everything were perfect, there would be no reason to worship Jesus, and in fact there would be not religion at all, actually. Religion was created to give us a guide on how to live a more moral life (due to the fact that people are innately selfish - this we call survival). Then it was used by the corrupt people in power to brainwash uneducated folks like yourself so as to enhance their grips even moreso.
Quote "How would you feel if you opened up microsoft word and typed into the computer to say, 'I love you' to yourself. That sounds dumb to us doesn't it?"
Yes, it does sound dumb. It's a terrible analogy that makes you look unintelligent and does not help your argument. It's impossible to love something without choice? Perhaps you should go ask your mom when she decided she'd start loving you.
How do you describe love without hate?
Hmmm, ever tried a dictionary?Don't worry, you don't sound like a holy guru.
You sound like a little kid. - 4 years ago

To the answer of some of your questions, i have to say that you were wrong about saying that we all serve the same "god" just different books. As far as I know, Jesus Christ is the only one who has every lived a perfect life...but not only did he live a perfect life, he died on the cross for your sins and my sins...Romans 6:23 says that for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord..But after he died on the cross he rose three days later. You can't tell me that Budda or Muhammod did that because they didn't...I don't mean to sound like some holy person of the sort because i'm not but I feel that you are missing the boat completly. Also it is our fault for these things that happen to us...Romans 3:23 says that for ALL have sinned and fallin short of the glory of god. We mess things up everyday and these tragic things are the result of our sins. I know that most people try not to think about it as being our fault but in reality, it is. If everything were perfect then it would be hard to not worship Jesus because nothing is wrong. How would you feel if you opened up microsoft word and typed into the computer to say, " I love you" to yourself. That sounds dumb to us doesn't it...so why does it sound so dumb to us when we wonder why Jesus gives us the choice. Just something to think about. We wonder why he doesn't make everything nice and easy. It is impossible to love something without choice. How do you describe love? All the opposite of hate but without hatred could we describe love? Like i said, I don't want to sound like some Holy Guru or whatever you want to call it but i just really felt Jesus telling me to share this with you. If you have any other questions just email me at bmckay959@hotmail.com God Bless!!!

This clip has many responses that are obviously setup by known acquaintances of the producer (thecalling.) Since you claim to be a Christian, be wary of flattery and pride goes before destruction (pride, destruction; have we considered that as a possible reason for 9/11?). There are many things about 9/11 we don't understand and try to explain anyway (I include myself.) God is sovereign and could have prevented more than just the supposed twenty thousand people from dying that day by not showing up to work. So the question should be, "Why did God allow this to happen at all?" Didn't He care about all the others that did die that day? God is the Creator and the earth is His. There may be a "bigger" picture here that we have overlooked. The world trade towers were brought down. What is the possibility that the greatest evil God saw on the earth was the merchandizing men were doing all over the world and how it slaved men and nations. After all, the love of money is the root of all evil. We know there should be fair trade for labor. http://www.sierraclub.org/trade/downloads/fairversusfree.pdf. Unfair trade for labor is an unjust weight or balance. The prophets many times spoke against merchants who, by increasing or decreasing weights or false balances, defrauded their fellows. I'm not saying I'm all right on this or even close. The people who did die will live again in the resurrection. Where was God on 9/11? I don't think He was selecting who would live or die by whether they went to work that day (presuming the ones who didn't go to work and lived were listening to God and the ones that did, were not.) God is not that petty. Man is.

Sorry to say, but all the chatter here is more interesting than the video.
The video sends out a confused message, we don't understand your viewpoint. Here's what I mean:
In one way, you can view it as "pro-God," if you understand those "reasons" for how many people's lives were spared were due to the work of God.
In another, you can view it as "anti-God," if you look at the numbers for how many people died/were affected and read the question "Where was God," and understand the message to be, "look at how many people died, He wasn't there."I'll assume that this is "pro-God," because, it just makes more sense, and because a non-believer probably wouldn't quote the scriptures, or if they did, would choose to use the more horrific ones.
What's funny about this situation is that these Muslim suicide attacks, to the people who act them out, are viewed as a sort of "Holy assignment," or are the work of the Lord.... and here we are saying "look at how many lives God saved!"
Here's my .02:
Religion is insanity. When we have people killing in the name of God, Muslim or not (yes, even good ol' peachy-keen American Christians have killed in the name of God). When we have people making live sacrifices in the name of God (perhaps not so much Christianity any more, but I'm not necessarily referring to regular Western religions). And when we have people doing anything else inhumane in the name of God, we know, or should know, that it's been taken too far.
For example, dward writes, "i for one think it's amazing how God shows himself through destruction"
Excuse me? Amazing? NO. That is INSANE. Destruction and death are not beautiful things. Death may be embraced if you believe you will be granted eternal life; however, it is still tragic, and I believe a loving God would not kill people and destroy our creations (the Twin Towers) to show the living His awesome power.
Please, worship God, love God, whatever, but do it at home, don't let somebody else tell you how your relationship with God should be, and don't you tell anybody else how their relationships with God should be. It is a sacred relationship that should be practiced in private, or perhaps with close family, but not en mass with one single dude (or lady) telling you how it's supposed to go.
thecalling, you don't need to disrespect dco because you didn't do so well in English class.
jubal, I think you've given the smartest response to other people's comments, and I applaud your view on bringing Christianity back to it's root message - "just love one another." People take the bible (and/or any other holy scripture) too literally these days, become fanatical, and do crazy, inhumane things.
Sure, the bible says "This is the word of the Lord," but, need I remind you, people wrote it.
1. People are corrupt
2. How do you let somebody else tell you what God told them, and then you just believe it - no questions asked? We need to understand that the bible is a fiction with its message being "love and respect one another." It lays out the morality behind human compassion, but unfortunately, as history (and current events) will show it's been used by corrupt people to pervert the minds of uneducated folk (for the profit of those in control) and it sickens me.

"How God shows himself through destruction?" Yeah! It's really quite beautiful how he kills thousands for the greater good. My favorite part is how successful he is. In fact, I've taken this particular incident as undeniable proof that God is watching us. How else could you explain a terroristic attack?
thecalling - The implications that you made about etosha are preposterous. Why would you assume Christianity? If one can attribute the bad things to God, I don't think they would have trouble doing the same for good things. The problem is not seeing God's benevolence, it's seeing God. As I have previously explained that I am incapable of relyingon belief as a foundation of my moral, philosophical, judicial, and social ideaology. It is not enough. I am in need of more concrete explanations; suffice it to say physical explanations. If God adequately demonstrated his providence (rather than subtle, indestinguishable and otherwise explicable hints that require the interpretation of a person already firm in their belief.), I would be pretty convinced that the metaphysical is possible, but, as of yet, this has not happened. - 4 years ago

I'm not sold. From what I see in the world today, the response to 9/11 is that some dumb-ass guy invaded a country or two, causing tens of thousands of deaths and regional instability. The result is that millions of Muslim people who had little to nothing to say about the US and its largely Christian residents (yes, I know that there are people of all religions here) are now angry with us. Seems to me it the US reign as moral cop, mediator and sole super power is ending. This is not due to the planes crashing into the twin towers, but because a small group of people with an agenda went beyond their means against the desires of the people that elected them. What does this have to do with the above movie? The way they were elected was by convincing some of the people of the US that they were morally better than their opponents because they believed in God more and more literally. How horribly wrong in the head so, so many people are.

The point of this is to show you that God is there for you in the worse times etosha. It seems that God is only there for you in the good times because thats the only time immature christians can see Him. But as you mature as a follower of christ you can say and see that God was working miracles through that tragedy.

Glad you directed it to me dco,
Due to our choice to disobey God, (just as God said there would be) sin, death, and hell was established for fate. Since then people have been sinning like crazy, and you ask why wont God wear the pants and step up? Well guess what guys, He has stepped up, God's response to sin, is His son dieing on the cross, His response to pain is divine healing, His response to death is eternal life.
The truth is God has His hand on everything, you just have to open your eyes and ask God for His blessings, 2 Corinthians 12:9" But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.

I think that you make a good point dco, when it is something good and miraculous, it is gods hand, when it is something like 911, it is mans fault, or the devils work, or the bullshit message i am tired of hearing "god works in mysterious ways" if there is a god, why is he only there for the good times?

What you're missing, apparently, is that since God has given us free will, everything we do is our fault. Essentially, God has no hand in our lives... unless it's a good thing! Good things are attributed to God, but everything else is the devil's work, or the folly of man (neither of which can be stopped by God?). To me, it makes no sense. It seems that people are just fundamentally doubting the possibility that, and here's a bigg'un, man can do good things out of altruism. They say that man is inherently evil. Why not attribute the bad things to God? Why attribute anything to God? I don't know. You should ask thecalling. He's got it figured out.

You obviously put some time and energy into this, but it gets the Redlight from me. Not much here to work with. The music was... loud, and not yours? For me this was a waste of 4:44. I wanted something engaging or poignant or anything really, but the end came and there was nothing. I guess you've gotten some conversation going, and that's something.
This reminds me of a religious magazine dropped on my doorstep. The cover was of the planes exploding into the towers on 9-11-01, with the question "Where was God?".
The same answer (or question) came to my mind then as now, which is, wasn't "GOD" flying those planes into the WTC? What am I missing? Would they have carried out that murderous act if those virgins weren't waiting for them? I'm not trying to say that "God" was happy that day, because so many things are done in the name of "God" that are "un-Godly," including suicide attacks like 9-11.
I think you could improve your video and increase its impact by using narration and dropping the obnoxious music. Do you have any of your own that you could use? If this is your music, I apologize for putting my foot in my mouth. :-)

23 people have commented on his pod who have no post history, or anything on their account info page. They all have the same comment proclaiming how epic this video is. The same thing happened last time thecalling posted it. This is really strange. Either an army of over-enthusiastic Christians are signing on for this purpose alone, or I'm missing something.
I myself did not like the pod. It does not seem to have a substantial message, as I have already told thecalling. It seems to say that God's part in 9/11 was lessening the atrocities. Shouldn't he be able to do more, like, I don't know, STOP THEM? If God truly is present, then that would mean he simply allows these things to happen; he allows two thousand innocent people to die, and for what? What? This image that is portrayed of God, a stingy miserly father who has such neglect and contempt for his children seems to clash with the loving idol typically perpetuated. Why does God do such cruel meaningless things? He has the power to stop them, why wouldn't he? Sure, he gave us free will. So what? He can still stop people! Why should it be up to people to kill two thousand? - 4 years ago

Thecalling, I was not very nice in my comment earlier, when I should have told you that I thought your skills at developing this video was very beautiful and excellent execution. I have done animated text before and I know how difficult it is to get the timing right and all that. I apologize for coming across as critical of your work. I applaud your work, however I strongly disagree with the message.
God didn't have anything to do with 9/11 neither good nor bad. 9/11 was a conspiracy of people who for all sorts of reasons wanted to bring the United States people to their knees in fear. You have been made to believe that this was the act of terrorists; although the terrorists they are blaming are not the real terrorists behind the terror unleashed on 9/11. The conspirators are those who stood to profit most from terror in the United States. They have long been "in bed" with religious leaders through the one thing they both have in common; huge and vast sums of money.
Now I am not talking about your garden variety independent Christian congregation that is more like a fellowship of families; sort of like a big extended family. I am talking about the corporate "big box" churches who's pastors fly around in million dollar jets and publish books and take in millions of dollars a month in tax free donations; while their followers are tithing 10% of their gross incomes and purchasing all the books, cd's and DVD's that church has to offer. Christianity has been hijacked by corporate America and most Christians are too blind to see that it has become a big lie. They are being tricked into buying their salvation when salvation is a free gift.
You need to open your eyes to the fact that our government new that 9/11 was inevitable and they did little if anything to stop it from happening because our government isn't the holy thing you think it is. It has been infiltrated by greedy corporations and the people that they own. Yes they actually own entire families that can never escape except through death. Today's Christendom bares little resemblance to the true teachings of Jesus. Very few Christians today are turning the other cheek; no we are starting pre-emptive wars and killing millions of innocent bystanders in the name of freedom; freedom to worship this new twisted vision of Jesus. Jesus who rules with an Iron Fist.
This is not my lord and savior, no sir, Jesus who rules with love and compassion; who has mercy on all the lowest of the low. This is the Jesus I know. This Jesus would have nothing to do with violence in the name of God. He would have nothing to do with hating so called sinners like gays, drug addicts, abortionists. He would use love to conquer their hearts and heals their souls. God is love and we are all one in God's love. The same way that Jesus and God are one, we are all one too. Jesus himself said this while he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane just moments before he was handed over to die. We are god and we need to worship one another as we worship and love god. God first, and then everybody else. That is what Jesus said, two commandments that encompass all the law and the prophets.

and no offense, but to the people who obviously believe in God and call themselves Christians who have made remarks about the "retarded" athiests or whatever--think about how you're portraying yourselves...i mean im not condoning their remarks about God or this video by any means...but do you honestly think referring to them as "retards" and belittling them is ok..? seems to me like it would just give them more reason in justifying themselves to not believe in God or give Him the time of day...so try to think about that next time you start to make a remark towards someone like that... it doesnt reflect God's nature or what he's about at all...it just ends up hurting the kingdom.

This video gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. While it is true that God is with us at all times, the question "where was God?" still makes itself present. Even the most faithfull believers find themselves asking this same question when trageties such as 9/11 occur. This video is a spectacular reminder that God is always with us in ways that we don't always notice and He obviously has a specific plan for us, whether we understand it or not. It is also a well made and thoughtfully planned. I thought the choice of music went with the video perfectly.

Mr_Green_Khalid : Corection- Hinduism, Buddhism, and Atheism and even Agnosticism comes to mind as not believing in the same "God" as you say when compared with Christians, Jews, and Islamists.

I cannot believe that this day in age, a person that is no longer a child could even ask such a childish question. Whether from the Jewish, Christian, or Islamic faith, they all beilieve in the same God just different books, for those who still dont know that little bit of information; and if you truely have faith in the existence of God, then his presence in all this should not be a question. What did you expect, Jesus would magically return and carry those planes to safety before any harm could happen on American soil?

Where was God? Only in the minds of the religious. Better question might be, do you KNOW the religions (if any) of everyone that perished and survived? (and by the way, there were survivors at Ground Zero. They were in a stairwell that did not collapse).
