Africa is a unstable continent when it comes to wars, almost always there is a tribal war or a civil war, Other countries getting involved could just make it a lot worse.

the leaders of kenya need to step up. Both the president and opposition leader know each other well. The meeting last week was a good start but it wasn't enough. They need to put aside their differences and find a way to end the violence.

I think something needs to be done, but I'm not sure if the US and UN getting "much more involved" is necessarily the best option.
Jubal sees the opposite side of the coin, I'm not sure the best solution for Kenya, either way I'm sure the unrest isn't going to finish soon.

tori - the police are now saying that there is no shoot to kill order. its unclear who at this point to believe. i think the US and the UN need to get much more involved as this gets worse by the day.

Meanwhile, Kenya's police have received "shoot to kill" orders for the second time since the election, and the opposition is again denouncing that order saying the move is inappropriate and illegal regardless of the crime. Opposition leader Raila Odinga called the order "a sign of a government that has run amok."
