Large majorities of voters believe the president has considerable sway on a range of big issues such as inflation, interest rates, the federal deficit, taxes and more. Fully three-quarters believe the president has at least some influence over health care costs, for example. Sixty-nine percent can see the president making gasoline prices go up or down.
They are less certain, though, about the president's ability to change how things really work in Washington: 55 percent think it's possible; 44 percent are doubtful, no matter who's elected.

I guess if this clip is anything to go by, the US haven't gotta raise the bar very far at all...
All politicians have slip ups and things that might make them look bad, it just seems that a lot of Bush's were filmed, compiled and all put in this little youtube video.

No matter who is elected even though expectations are high, 99% of what politicians promise is all bullshit anyways. America needs to stop looking to the politicans to make the change. We as a country need to rise up together to get these changes made. That is the only way changes are going to occur!
People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

well, Bush has raised the bar so high so effortlessly with his Lincolnesque 7 years that it's only natural to expect a nearly unattainable greatness from the next administration...
