This news has been constricted to what are known as "conspiracy theory" websites... however, to see this news in the San Fransisco Chronicle is telling. And yet, even though it is, we are not seeing this information being disseminated to the public at large. Why? Why are people in this country so mute to the reality around them? The fact that they have given contracts to Halliburton to build detention camps in this country should make all Americans sit up and take notice. I just don't know what to say anymore. I truly am heartbroken for what this country has become.

    • Yes, that false perception still even after all that has gone down that they can trust anyone in the US government persists. And that is the illusion they are trying to hold onto. And to reiterate, I do not believe they will give it up easily, which is why I don't trust anyone running this time out either for any major party. They didn't do all they did to just hand it over to be dismantled. Oh well.... it seems as though the "successors" to each party have already been picked, the electronic voting machines are still hackable, and people are still sucked in by rhetoric, polls, and speeches never believing that even Obama could just be one of them putting on a good show.

So will we make the same mistake again? Or will this actually be the start of the fight? I wish I could say the latter, but I don't have any trust left for politicians who are in Washington DC to believe that. I will be susprised to actually see Bush and his criminals leave, though I already know they will get away with what they did. All we will see are books being wriiten, subpoenaes going out, and more smoke amd mirrors to try to get people to believe those same people who let them go for eight long years all of sudden have had a pang of conscience and read the Constitution.

    • General MacArthur stated that the 3rd world war will be fought as a united planet against planetary neighbors. The truth of the matter is that it will be the sheepeople against the controlling mentalities of a handful of people.

Step one must be that people unit and work together in order to not allow the control unit to build their house of cards...

Government is of the people, by the people, for the people... When not inline with this, it must be changed...

Military personnel will need to be asked to lay down their arms against humanity...

NEVER ever can you take a knife to a gun fight and I can honestly say that past atrocities will look like child's play with what they are willing to do...

If you have seen EndGame then Zeitgeist, Esoteric Agenda, and We Become Silent are others you may wish to at least watch with an open mind...

Many will disbelieve only because their minds will not allow them to believe their government would, could or has done this to them...

    • this whole thread kix a$$...such XLNT material you guys! a lot to study up on if I can ever manage to get there (the wobblies etc.)

it does seem what currently constitutes the whole sham is that all they wrongly do is suddenly "legal" just because they SAY it's legal, while other members/branches of government are silently stupid or just intelligently complicit in all of it.

in any case it's clear there is a real war and bounty on the head of every common man to be debased and demoralized. pernicious rich men are more constant threat to freedom and liberty through time and age than any religious terrorist we could possibly invent or evoke by misdeed.

if money is the root of all evil, rich men are truly the most wicked sob's... If there truly is a day of Glory to look forward to, I would pray to see them burning in hell for the "eternal" torments they plan for others less "priveleged" as not even a simple death seems fit for their likes.

    • This is just becomig a scary place to live. Whats even worse is this article was on page 2 of the newspaper, what the hell is going on in this country? How many people out there do not realize what is about to happen here? And whats even worse have you read the by laws of the Martial Law Act....if you haven't i suggest you read them over, under martial law these "camps" are legal.
Executive Order 10995: All communications media are to be seized by the Federal Government. Radio, TV, newspapers, CB, Ham, telephones, and the internet will be under federal control. Hence, the First Amendment will be suspended indefinitely.

Executive Order 10997: All electrical power, fuels, and all minerals well be seized by the federal government.
Executive Order 10998: All food resources, farms and farm equipment will be seized by the government. You will not be allowed to hoard food since this is regulated.
Executive Order 10999: All modes of transportation will go into government control. Any vehicle can be seized.
Executive Order 11000: All civilians can be used for work under federal supervision.
Executive Order 11490: Establishes presidential control over all US citizens, businesses, and churches in time of "emergency."
Executive Order 12919: Directs various Cabinet officials to be constantly ready to take over virtually all aspects of the US economy during a State of National Emergency at the direction of the president.
Executive Order 13010: Directs FEMA to take control over all government agencies in time of emergency. FEMA is under control of executive branch of the government.
Executive Order 12656: "ASSIGNMENT OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS RESPONSIBILITIES", "A national emergency is any occurrence, including natural disaster, military attack, technological emergency, or other emergency that seriously degrades or seriously threatens the national security of the United States. Policy for national security emergency preparedness shall be established by the President." This order includes federal takeover of all local law enforcement agencies, wage and price controls, prohibits you from moving assets in or out of the United States, creates a draft, controls all travel in and out of the United States, and much more.

    • Yes, they must be impeached, but not even the presidential candidates will call for it and the one that did had to drop out because he just doesn't represent the status quo adequately enough. Amazing that doesn't bother people calling for impeachment who support Clinton or Obama or tells them anything about how they are part of the game.

does that remind anyone else of Dr.Strangelove?...

and whats with the cattle cars? I mean - Really! It makes me wonder...Is this just another case of somebody writing inflammatory propaganda on the internet and posing as a reliable source? Or did they decide to go with the "Nazi motif" cattle cars with shackles because it's SO over the top, no one will really believe it?

    • yes, and that's what i'm getting at...at the point which anyone buys into the fear game they are contributing to the power of that which is negative not only in the mass populous but in your every day life-creation...

don't give it your attention to the point you buy into the fear and you will then sway the masses to the outrageous joy we came here to live as you share THAT with those that are stuck in and vibrating at the rate of fear.

all the best in love and joy!!!

    • some of you have commented to me and all i can say is you can study the law of attraction a little more to understand what i'm saying...

there's noone in those camps, right? and if you look at how the jews were slaughtered under hitler the only reason they died in those camps is because they allowed those people to lead them there...

so when the time came, if it would, very likely it never will because the MAJORITY of this country know the bullcrap these criminals are really all about and WILL never allow it to happen...YOU would have the CHOICE to fight for your rights or allow them to lead you to slaughter their way...trust me, it will never happen, particularly if you never give thought to it again...

just look at what's going on in vermont...the people have declared, in one city, that if bush or cheney should show themselves there, they will be arrested for war crimes +++...

anyway, when you give somebody your power, you are in fear...trust that you can die however you want to...and in fact, if you listen to abraham, there is no death...only changing of a form...and you will continue your eternal expansion in the fullness of your god-self because you are god-source energy, the eternal expansion of the universe...

check it out! you'll be amazed because you know this is truth already!!!

it's has changed my life totally and completely in very short order...

all the contrast (negativity) we expose ourselves to is for one purpose only...what do we prefer? what is our desire? FOCUS ON THE DESIRE AND IT WILL MANIFEST BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES!!! IT IS LAW.

WHATEVER YOU FOCUS ON, YOU CREATE!

much love to everyone, all is well!!!

your job is to live in outrageous joy!!!

Its more scary then some "end game" that "W" could come up with. The congress gave "W" enough power to do anything he wants. He could have all the opposition candidates arrested and they DON'T get an attorney. All he has to do is just say he thinks they are terrorist!

    • NSPD-51 and the Potential for a Coup d'état by National Emergency

      By William H. White

      January 27, 2008

NOTE TO THE READER: This paper addresses the possibility of a coup d'état by national emergency before the end of Bush's last year in office, citing recent institutional actions that can be reasonably interpreted as being consistent with and preparatory to such an undertaking. These actions, all occurring since Bush's reelection, include among others: 1) claiming by executive order emergency powers unauthorized by Congress; 2) contracting for the construction of high capacity detention centers throughout the country; 3) conducting nation-wide mass arrest exercises; 4) obtaining from Congress removal of legal impediments to the indefinite detention of US citizens without trial; 5) obtaining from Congress the authority to use federal troops for domestic police duties, by nullifying the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878; and, 6) obtaining from Congress the authority to use national guard units, without the consent of state's governor, in that or any other state. While these and other actions cited here have alternative, plausible explanation, and those participating in them may be entirely unaware of the darker ends to which their work may be put, nevertheless each is troubling and collectively they demand serious assessment as a potential threat to both our constitutional republic and its democratic governance, especially in light of the Bush administration's record of unlawful behavior. The reader is therefore asked to give this careful consideration because the eternal vigilance necessary to protect our liberty is better served by reasonable suspicion than by enduring trust.

    • I reread this article again this morning, it still frightens me. This is one of the reasons they need impeached. We can't afford to wait. I feel if they are allowed to continue on unimpeded we will have an attack, he will declare Martial law, and Blackwater will enforce it. The American dissidents will be shipped off to his undisclosed location prisons. If you dare object to what is happening you will be an enemy combatant. Are you up for that?

    • Hey JanforGore did you notice the sentence in the article that says:

Halliburton, founded in 1919, is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries. The company serves its customers with a broad range of products and services through its Energy Services Group and KBR.

      Founded in 1919....hmmmm

You should really take a look at what was happening around that time with regard to the Wobblies. Halliburton was undoubtedly behind similar "new programs". The Wobblies were rounded up and sent out in rail cars into the desert chained to cars with shackles and given no water or food. Other Wobblies were treated as communists, traitors, socialists, rabel rousers, labor agitators, etc ad nauseum.

One can only watch the documentary and get a picture of what is coming down the pike. Thus begins the final "death cry" of this Oligarchy, but not before many millions more will perish in the struggle for the freedom of Humanity; freedom from oppression by the Elite Corporate Rich.

    • History is repeating itself yet again. What is happening now is very similar to what happened back in the early 1900's from the turn of the Century to the 30's. There was the Workers of the World trying to form a World Wide Union in opposition to the Money Barons of the United States and their slave labor force they had created by creating taxing jurisdictions to steal the land away from small farmers and forcing them to relocate to camps and cities.

Remember the book and movie "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck?

      http://books.google.com/books?id=fk7SawIjG3IC&dq=grapes+of+wrath&pg=PP1&...://www.google.com/search?q=Grapes+of+Wrath&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS261US261&sa=X&oi=print&ct=title&cad=one-book-with-thumbnail

Well you should all see the film called "The Wobblies" it was one of the last films made under the generous NEA endowments before the tide turned in 1999 and the Republicans began to gut the NEA and the PBS.

I have a link here to a clip from the Wobblies. Also here is a link to a paper I wrote about them.

      http://www.jonjaramillo.com/thewobblies.htm

We here at Current TV are the 21st Century equivalent to the Wobblies. Current TV is our Soap Box on which we stand and proclaim the truth to all who would listen. We are the underdogs who have been tread upon kicked and beaten. If you have time read the paper and comment on the principles embodied in their resistance, their sabotage. For I am not advocating a sabotage of American Constitutional Principles rather I am advocating sabotage of those who would "piss on" the American Constitution for their own greedy gains; those who are hijacking our freedom to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Since corporations were declared "People" by the Supreme Court, they have become an elite class of "People" with special rights.

As Nobel Prize Winning Economist Milton Freedman declared, "corporations are people with all the rights that real people have, but to say that they have responsibilities as do real people do have is not correct, for corporations are not real people but artificial people; therefore to say they have a responsibility to society is vague and artificial. The only responsibility a corporation has it to its stock holders." Since he won the prize for releasing corporations from their moral obligations to humanity, to the planet, and to the United States; they have been gearing up for their takeover.

The nail on the coffin will be when they have created a corporate super-nation that will supercede this nation and have control over it; much like what the "conspiracy theorists" have warned calling it the North American Union for lack of a better or "Official" name. Although this new super-nation will be run by sheer force and technological power. The current senate and congress will be rendered a mere puppet show, while the new Super-Nation senators will be chosen by the regional corporate oligarchies.

    • Jubal, yes that is what I meant when I used the word lazy. I didn't mean to infer Americans on the whole are lazy when it comes to working. Matter of fact that's all many of us do because we have no choice... just to be broke at the end of the week, while people entrusted with our best interests do all in their power to keep taking more. I would think that sooner or later the rubber is going to meet the road regarding that.

    • Faith in Bush and Cheney? Surely you jest. And I have written many letters, signed many petitions, made many phone calls and STILL Congress does nothing. I was once filled with great faith in this system and in those who I thought put our interests and the interests of this planet first. The time for believing that is now past through no fault of my own. I am sick of begging people in Congress to do what they should already know must be done! I'm tired of Democrats placating these fascists because they don't want to ruin their election. When the hell are members of Congress going to be Americans first when it comes to such matters? I placed my faith in this system and it spit on me and on so many in this country. So no, I have NO faith that Bush or Cheney will do the right thing, and would rather see them on trial for war crimes. Perhaps if that day ever comes my faith will be restored. But not one Democratic candidate has even mentioned taking action against these criminals should they be elected. That speaks volumes to me.

    • JanforGore stated:

They haven't invested all of the money and time they have into getting the control they have just to give it up. Which is why people need to understand that whoever becomes "president" after Bush will more than likely have to be part of it all in some way to keep it going, which is why the ones they were assured wouldn't keep it going have already been dealt with.

This is most decidedly true....The only people ready to oppose the corporate takeover of America have been silenced and edged out of the running. They have succeeded in keeping the sheep in line. The detention camps are for those who would stand up against them for they have criminalized free speech too.

What keeps the economy going is spending money. If people stopped spending money the economy would come crashing down. I agree with the people who stated that we need to bring things to a stand still. Sabotage is the only way by slowing down the wheels of production.

Statistically Americans are more productive than they were in the 1970's and the dollar is worth on tenth of what it was then. The truth is that now, adjusted for inflation, someone making $20 per hour is really earning what back in the 70's was $5 per hour. We are working harder for less money. All this talk about American's being lazy is only partially true, they are not lazy when it comes to working hard and producing things, but they are lazy when it comes to standing up for their rights. They have had their minds boxed into a corner from which they ask and pray "can't you just leave me alone in my living room?" NO F'n Way!

We are going to bombard you with our 24 hour a day 7 day a week flashing neon sign of a Zeitgeist that says be afraid, be very afraid; resistance is futile, you will be assimilated or sent to one of our reeducation camps run by Halliburton.

The thing is, if he believed he could get away with it now, he'd do it - that's what I think. So, let's not sit around waiting for our fears to manifest.

Support your GOOD elected officials who need our support to take action - and write Nancy Pelosi and make it clear to her that impeachment is not off the table for Americans and that we want it to be so. That we want this power of a President to assign himself Dictator status abolished!

Spread the word - join other forums, make videos whatever. Inaction is the source of feeling helpless.

And, above all else, have faith - and reserve a little for Bush and Chenney that they will do the right thing.

Over a million signatures keeps this a valid call for investigation - that's us. If we don't keep our voices heard and continue to do so, even if it's as small an act as passing out information in a leaflet, it may well be a foregone conclusion.

If Obama can pull this country together and surround himself with the right smart people in the right positions I'll continue to hope. As we've seen time and time again, what's the right thing to do isn't a guarantee that it will be done that way.

Another problem is that so many people just don't want to believe our country could ever come to this they immediately come to the conclusion this is unfounded paranoia - our government would NEVER do this to their own citizens - too unbelievable for them. MSM will be afraid of being swift boated by the right wing unless they have undeniable proof.

    • I cannot add anything either, stephenthomson!

MM, twodee and others have correctly assessed the situation.

The open-ended and conspicuously misnamed "War on Terror" offers the perfect vehicle to use the Patriot Act and Domestic Surveillance to ferret people away and put them where they will never see the light of day or even be able to face their accusers.

In fact, the very real possibility exists that Blackwater personnel could be the only human contact any detainee ever sees again.

I thought the second amendment extremists and Ron Paul backers were absolutely nuts but while I hate their politics, I am taking notes on other plans they are making.

With web spying, networking with other PEACEFUL but like-minded people may become dangerous as forces just as sinister as were the special undercover ops shown to have been carried out by local police departments in the film Fahrenheit 911.

Civil disobedience and even more drastic forms of conflict may be necessary. (A wise person once said that China would never be conquered as a nations since occupation would be impossible) Let us hope that American ingenuity and the sheer size of this population helps us prevent it from occurring here.

While I am not in any way advocating urban warfare, I AM saying that in a nation where the number of unregistered firearms currently in the hands of citizens outnumbers those citizens, it would be a lot harder to occupy or control the citizenry under marshal law.

"Hold on tight to your dreams" and when you're not dreaming, SCHEME.

    • We don't have this protection anymore either. Habeas corpus in the United States
      From Wikipedia,
Habeas corpus (/'heɪbiəs 'kɔɹpəs/), Latin for "you [should] have the body", is the name of a legal action or writ by means of which detainees can seek relief from unlawful imprisonment. The Suspension Clause of the United States Constitution specifically included the English common law procedure in Article One, Section 9 which states:

“ The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it. ”

United States federal law affords persons the right to petition for a writ of habeas corpus mainly if held by the federal authorities or for violations of the United States Constitution. Habeas corpus petitions are generally argued as ex parte cases. Individual states also afford persons the ability to petition for habeas corpus pursuant to their respective constitutions and laws when held or sentenced by state authorities.

During the Civil War and Reconstruction and during the Global War on Terrorism the right to petition for a writ of habeas corpus was substantially curtailed for persons accused of engaging in certain conduct.

    • We don't have this protection anymore...Posse Comitatus Act
      From Wikipedia,

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 16, 1878 after the end of Reconstruction. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement police or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order" on non-federal property (States, their counties and municipal divisions) in the former Confederate states.

The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Coast Guard is exempt from the Posse Comitatus Act.

The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement.

    • You're right. On the whole people in this country are fat, lazy, overly contented, pampered fools easily molded by fear and intimidation who think everything they see on TV is true and that their govt. would never lie to them, and if they do it is for their own best interests. I even mentioned this to some people and they looked at me like I had two heads. The conglomeration of media overlords in collusion with political forces have done a real number on the minds of Americans over the last fifty years... and now they are going in for the payday. Perhaps that is also why I cannot muster the "excitement" so many seem to have regarding this bogus election that will once again be decided by "touchscreen voting." Let's face it, if God forbid a major attack were to happen here before November, Bush and his cabal could very well suspend the election now due to his directive 51. And I doubt many would even blink an eye if he did on a day American Idol is on, and that is really the most frightneing part of all of this...those who think it can't happen here. Hell, they already stripped habeus corpus and most of our rights under the constitution and bill of rights without people on the whole flinching. And the longer they can keep us all distracted with this American Idol campaign the easier it is for them to put the plan in place. All it will take is just one more major disaster or attack. And usually I would say that is crazy but in the case of these people it most assuredly is possible. They haven't invested all of the money and time they have into getting the control they have just to give it up. Which is why people need to understand that whoever becomes "president" after Bush will more than likely have to be part of it all in some way to keep it going, which is why the ones they were assured wouldn't keep it going have already been dealt with.

    • I had this conversation with my brother in-law the other day! American is the laziest country in the world, any other country would stop working, rally up and put the economy on it's ass until things change! But America just sits there and does nothing. No more rallying for rights. We should just piss on the U.S. Constitution and the Deceleration of Independence

    • They are saying what I've been saying for two or three years. Thank God someone is printing it at last. They are planning a takeover. They have destroyed our military while building up the private forces, so we have no protection from them. No wonder they allowed no brain McCain to be their front runner, it doesn't matter.

    • It is truly a sad forecast for this once great country. I shall not go silently into the night, whimpering in fear. Of that you can rest assured.
