What is the Clinton Campaign Thinking? Path to Nomination through Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio

Mathmatically, the earliest last stand in the competive democratic is Pennsylvania on April 22nd. Hillary's campaign truly needs to win all three BIG states: Texas, Ohio and PENN in order to change the momentem and win.

She's down now, but as this strategy note points out--she's not out. However, she WAS the front runner for so long in almost all of the state Obama has won so far--so those commanding leads she's got in Ohio and Texas and even Pennsylvania, could either maintain themselves like they did in New Hampshire, or go the way of Maryland, and suprise a lot of people...

Here's the road map...

    • this is a bit reminiscent of Rudy Giuliani a month or so ago... early frontrunner loses some small states, then claims to have been only caring about the upcoming big states all along. Clearly not the exact same thing, but it does have some similarities...

...and I think McCain's success is more a result of the people in front of him imploding than anything positive from his campaign. The general election is a little less than 8 months away, and McCain was considered to be on the verge of dropping out 8 months ago - beyond a longshot... It seems like something similarly unexpected could happen in the next several months - if nothing else, it should be interesting.

    • Hillary Clinton's campaign has been a downhill journey. She started out in first place without a single person in second place. I do respect the fact the she has campaigned in every state so far. The candidate that I favor, John McCain has had an uphill climb for his campaign. He started in dead last and had to fight his way past some popular GOP contenders with more money and organization than his own team. I wonder how this entire thing is going to work out.

    • I am glad she is getting distracted! I hope Obama wins, and we don't loose the amount of youth participating for the first time since Robert Kennedy in the political process. Go Obama!
