As a result of the disputed presidential election in Kenya in December, neighbors have been turning against each other with machetes and matches, violently attacking people they have known for years and destroying their homes and their businesses. This video recorded by JEMGLO in February 2008 at the Mulanda temporary refugee camp in Uganda tells some of their stories.

This is a fascinating look into what appears to be another crumbling government breakdown in Africa. Why is governmental rot so endemic in much of that continent? What does the future look like for much of Africa, particularly when clean drinking water is increasingly becoming a valuable commodity?
