    • Very impressive! You did a great job of highlight this organization and honoring Deborah's story. Loved the background music too, stirred a lot of emotion in me! Really nice work!!

    • What I liked about this piece is the sense of hope I got from it. It was uplifting to find out that there are organizations helping those who are ready to help themselves. You can see that Ms. Martin has respect for herself in her nice, manicured nails. It's just one of those things we girls notice.
      Good job Amanda.

    • Definitely an interesting story and a great character to help tell it. I think it's driven a little too strongly by the visuals from the woman's interview. I really love the part about the quilt-making and think you could do more to use that in your visuals. I might even lead with shots of the quilts or the sewing machine rather than the background info about Skid Row. That could help draw people into the story. I think you definitely need to hold on the title cards and break up the music a little, but overall you did a good job with the piece.

    • Very touching and inspiring. I agree with the two comments about text cards and background music but overall a great job! Good luck with this.

    • Wow - amazing story. Thanks for sharing it with the world. It is similar to the Inspiration Corporation here in Chicago that I work with monthly. Maybe you can come do a story on them. This sort of work will help promote awareness of what is good in the world and shine a "positive" light in the constant focus on negativity in the Media. Maybe even drive donations....

Congrats Peeps. You've come a long way!!

    • So my internet connection at work has been spotty, and it took a little longer than normal to load. I paused it, so it wouldn't be choppy, and found myself eager to click play again so I could find out more about her story... I think that's a great sign! Very nice. I was also impressed with your videography! Only one area for improvement: (and this may have been because I was listening to it on headphones, but) toward the end of the piece, the background music was competing with her voice a little—could have been a little softer. But all in all, a great piece!

    • Thanks for the suggestions! That's a good one, Daarina, maybe I"ll slow down the cards a bit. All feedback is welcome so I can get this fixed up for air! -Amanda

    • This is a great pod! I like the lady you used to move your story and it was interesting to see what she did with the pieces of fabric and the importance of her quilt. You also did a good job introducing Skid Row for people who know nothing about it, like me. The text cards in the beginning seemed to go a little fast, but other than that I thought your storytelling in this piece was impeccable! Nice job Amanda!
