Clinton is not even going to be offered the Vice Presidency. She'll be doing well to keep her Senate seat for New York in 2010.

That's my thinking Krag. Wes Clark is too acceptable to the Right. For Obama's protection he needs to choose someone thay hate more than him. That's why I want Edwards, besides he was my first choice in the last two elections.

Shelchak, do you really think people that were going to vote Obama in the first place would be turned away from no white person being on the ballot? I think those people would be a minority that would be trumped by the latino voter turnout Richardson could bring to the table.

I thought Edwards had the "Charm" to become the next president!!! Technically speaking, I didn't even dream about the concept of a Black Guy becoming US President. I thought it is just in movies, like Deep Impact,...
This tight race has created some effects. Since, the global media attention on Obama & Clinton, people rarely talk about McCain.

I don't think Edwards is the best choice either -- Obama needs someone older, who's been out there, having more foreign policy/military experience. He's got to counter McCain's claim to being the best choice there. Richardson would be good -- but I doubt a Black/Hispanic ticket would survive (sorry to say), so I think the person needs to be white, and male, and with military experience/know-how, and not a Senator (since Obama is a Senator).
This will really be a test to see if Obama is strong enough to buck the pressure to put Hillary on the ticket, and put who he thinks would be the best to have. I'm afraid that if he buckles under to the Clinton machine now, it'll be hard to ever get out from under it later.

I am pretty sure Edwards said he would not be interested in a VP position. I like the idea of Richardson on the ticket because he carries with him washington longevity, executive experience, and the latino vote.. all weaker areas for Obama. Also, despite what James Carville might say, I think Richardson is a pretty decent guy with his head in the right place.

I'm from Virginia. I like Webb too, but I'm not 100% sold on him. He's still a little rough around the edges. I think Wes Clark might be another strong choice. He's smart and obviously has the military background. And he gives a nod to the Clintons without the baggage that comes with having Hillary on the ticket. If he does choose Hillary...he should also hire a food taster.

The key word is fight. People are tired of her tactics. Jim Webb would probably be Obama's best bet. I would prefer Edwards, but I think in the election Webb is a stronger pick. People like him and he has great military credentials.
