Bush lied about giving up golf: video proof

President Bush said with a straight face this week that he gave up golf in honor of the fallen soldiers in Iraq, claiming that he quit after the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad in August 2003:

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," he said. "I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."

Bush said he made that decision after the August 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed Sergio Vieira de Mello, the top U.N. official in Iraq and the organization's high commissioner for human rights.

"I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life," he said. "I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, 'It's just not worth it anymore to do.'"

    • Thank you, Clayjj05. These pessimists get really annoying when they throw around their doomsday wishes. They can't help but make up lies about our country, because if didn't, they'd have nothing to complain about.

    • heatX, No, they don't know about Hitler or how he took over using a private army. The majority of people are too young. So of course they don't see it happening here. We have to tell them and show them.

    • Bush has been lying about this and MANY other things!

Why won't Bush explain all of these LIES? Think about 9/11 leading to the re-definition of 'Terrorism' (tactics used by governments to scare their citizens in to submission) and that leading to Afganistan then for no reason we invade Iraq and kill off sadaam, it is very eerie to me how no one even questioned this...

Those tactics were used by Hitler...
Today's anti-terrorism legislation is basically a duplication of the anti-terrorism legislation enacted by Hitler in the 30s...

Does any of the following ring a bell? "The national government will preserve and defend the foundations on which the strength of our nation rests...It will therefore declare merciless war on spiritual, political, and cultural nihilism. Germany must not and will not sink into Communist anarchy..." Adolph Hitler Feb 1st, 1933 "Hitler concentrated his attacks on the 'Marxists lumping them together with the trade unions and the Social Democrats... "The activities of subversive organizations are to be combatted with the most drastic methods. Communist terrorist acts are to be proceeded against with all severity and weapons must be used ruthlessly when neccesary..." Hitler, Feb 4th, 1933.

History is DEFINITELY repeating it's self! Take the money crisis right now for example! If you look in to history, if we don't see some kind of huge event involving the US Dollar within the next year or so... it would break a chain of events which has been happening over and over since the 1800s...

      Just open your minds, America!

    • i'm sorry, but who really cares whether or not someone's playing golf? Granted, he has a country to run, or pretend to, but still. It's a game of golf, a stress reliever, better he relieves stress by hitting balls instead of making another war!

    • Again, with this guy, I want to say something intelligent and thought provoking...and I am just overwhelmed with the thought, what a dickhead. Has he no sense of decency or shame, or even a memory? Perhaps he needs an aide or advisor to remind him that he says things like this, and secret service could keep watch for cameras, that way he could at least be sneaky...maybe?

    • Golf seems to be very important to the Bush family. His mother Barbara went out and played golf the day after his little sister Robin died. Seems a little cold to me.

    • Apart from his systematic lying, my skin crawls at his systematic contempt for human life. I'll never forget this particular moment - "Now, watch this drive!"

    • Wow, one would think that the United States public would just say, "Bush, you're full of shit. You have been full of shit since the day you came into office. Here is the impeachment process, get the fuck out."

I've met compulsive liars who tell the truth more often than our "elected" leader.

    • "bush is part of the reason why US is in trouble?"
now that's an understatement...no my friend he is the MAIN reason and unfortunately not just for your country's troubles. The whole world suffers because of him and his peers oil deals, HE is the biggest terrorist. It's amazing how one man is causing so much irreversible damage on the planet from dividing religions and nations to feeding a whole nation with lies, terror, insecurity, an enemy that doesn't even exist and on top of that he resists to sign treaties to save the environment.
By the time we see the last of this guy, Hitler will look like a kindergarden boy compared to him. At least Hitler knew what he was doing, I doubt this guy has any idea or perception of the damage he is causing, and that's what makes him even more dangerous.

    • On behalf our fearless, and hopeless, leader...he NEVER said he would NOT play golf, he said no one would SEE him play golf.

      Quote:
"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf."
      -G.W. Bush

...and again, he's wrong on both counts.

      Hey, at least he's consistent!
