We Need a New TV Network that Works For A Living... PNN - Progressive News Network

The main stream media has cancelled the news. No more Woodward & Bernstein, Walter Cronkite, or Edward R Murrow. We need a new major news network called PNN (Progressive News Network). PNN would hire only the best journalists -the ones who are hungry and doggedly determined to go after the truth - the type of journalists who dig until they find the real story behind the Bush Administrations illegal actions and other major stories that have never been told. PNN must happen in my opinion if this country is to survive. Right now the FCC, Bush Administration, and the multi-nationals that own the major news networks are all in bed together and the American people are being dummied down 24/7. I know the internet is beginning to have an impact on improving the political discourse and your site, Go Left TV, and Raw Story (among others) are making a difference. Unfortunately, however, most people still get their news from TV and there lies for problem. That tube is very powerful. I would do anything in my power to help make PNN a reality and I bet there are millions of people who feel the same way I do that would contribute to this cause. We must get people thinking again and having a Progressive News TV Network would do just that. Fox needs strong competition. Thanks for listening and please let me know what you think.

    • Do you have George Soros's email address? You will need deep pockets to get PNN going. A great idea, and one that may actually be ripe for reality at this precise point in time. FOX needs a balancing network to provide the other side of the story. Actually, we should bring back the "Fairness Doctrine" that required that all stations granted licenses to use public airwaves be politically balanced. Reagan destroyed the Fairness Doctrine, and the result has been the terribly skewed mass media Americans have to put up with today (a problem compounded by mass media consolidation, in which a handful of people now own most American media outlets). Until we get the Fairness Doctrine back into place, PNN would be a great alternative.
