I ended up crying through most of this film. It was like re-living it all over again and I understand why Jan doesn't want to watch it . It was way too painful. I kept turning it off and then right back on. Good thing it was on my dvr! Some of it did surprise me and the film was actually very well done. Will never watch it again, though.

Yes, Wreyeter, Recount was painfully accurate. The deceptions and hearts of those involved were clear and should have been a wake up call for what was to come.

During the opening scenes, I wanted to bail because I thought that the film was going to be biased. However, I stayed with it and believe that it was fair and balanced to both sides. I'm sure that I won't be the only one that was emotional at the end of the film. We all know that the end of the film's story was the beginning of a slide into darkness and deceit of historic proportions. Yes, we can recover!

When JanforGore says that she already knows plenty about it, I believe her. I've read enough of her posts to understand some of her feelings in this matter.
I've seen a screener copy of this film and, for those who didn't fully understand what was going on, it's eye-opening and entertaining as all get out. Those who do know most of the story will still be surprised by some of the behind-the-scenes twists and turns.
Fans of the first few years of "The West Wing" will get a huge kick out of the film's intellegence and clever wordplay.
Recommended viewing. I'll be looking forward to the dvd. - 3 years ago

Steven, this is good... Consider, that if the people involved with counting the vote hadn't been so shocked by the sudden eruption of violent objection to counting the vote, by a band of thugs hired by the Bush campaign, who literally broke in on the proceedings... then we would have had Mr. Natural himself, Al Gore as our fearless leader...
Not realizing, of course, that the episode was a part of the larger plan to stop the vote count and give the judiciary branch a reason to make their appointment of Mr. Sadbuttrue, they didn't know what to do...Maybe for the future, this will not be allowed to happen...
But for now, we still need a 'for sure' way to honestly count the vote...
I only hope that exposing the world to this surreptitious behavior will cause the majority of people to become more aware of the importance of the validity of honest elections...

Awesome!!!!!!! You don't want it to happen again do you?
Knowledge is power. Being forewarned is being forearmed!

I doubt it. I also know more about it than you think I do and I don't want to see it again.

Kevin Spacey was on Conan O'Brien last night, and said that although he was attentive to politics, even he did not realize there was so much to the story until he got involved with the project.
It's probably worth watching, Jan. i'm sure you'll learn something new.

This will be a great refresher course for all of those that weren't paying attention the first time. They say those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Thanks ST.

Nothing like opening the wound again for ratings...I won't be watching it. It was hard enough living it.
