In order to fully understand and appreciate the different sets of values and beliefs that make up the flesh and bones of America, we must allow ourselves to step back and take a developmental view of American culture—one which can make sense of the full spectrum of perspectives that are currently at play in the political arena, while also being able to account for America’s rich political history, as the oldest functioning democracy in the world.
The premise of this sort of developmental view is simple: people evolve. As people evolve, they move through a particular sequence of stages, a sequence that has been long studied by Western psychologists and has been found to be essentially universal to every culture in the world. Taking a developmental view accounts for the “multiple intelligences” every human being possesses, including cognitive development and intelligence, values and beliefs, charisma and interpersonal skills, etc. There is a long list of these different sorts of intelligences, each growing along its own particular developmental track, but there is enough congruence in their overall development that we can begin to take a meta-view of our growth and development by using a very simple concept known as “Altitude.” Altitude is essentially a barometer of overall human growth, which uses the color spectrum to denote several major stages of development—each of which has slowly evolved over the course of human history, though still very much at play in today’s world:

The way he explains it is that there are no longer just 2 parties, there are 2 splits in each of those.
So there people that are at the amber and orange stage of developement in the Republican party
And the orange and green stage in the Democratic party with the problem being that the people at the amber and orange stage can get along better than those at orange and green.
The 87% you mention are at the orange stage since that's where the most conventional values are held onto, how to get them to change their perspectives is another thing entirely.

I am 100% behind breaking up the party, but we have got to do something about the 87% of people who get their reality from Mass Media.

At the very least if they could get the people at the orange and green stage in the Democratic Party to work together that would help in the short term.

As I see it, if only 10% are at the turquiose stage of developement to understand the Integral Framework as it is, then the way to get the rest of the people to vote on it is to find reasons the appeal to the different stages.
Find a reason to appeal to the motivations of people at the amber stage, one for people at the orange stage and for people at the green stage.
That way it could get a majority of the electorate that appeals to what's important to whatever stage you're at.

That proves that within the voting system, many times the majority voting is not always right.
Many people just shut their eyes and vote without really understanding the issues. That is one of the flaws of this democratic system. The lower class, being the majority are so caught up on working and working for less and less and they do not have the time to study the issues.
