Pushing Bush to attack Iran

    • There are potentially very bad political setups here if Bush does manage to push an attack on Iran before his term is over.

      First, Bush could use such an excuse to relight the "terrorist" fear crusade to postpone the elections. He could also use the old "changing horse in mid stream" adage to try to do the same if he attacks.

      Second, Bush could use the same tactics not to stall the election, but to shine favorable light on McCain. Claiming that now is not the time to change to liberal policies who's withdrawing from Iran could have massive negative backlash effects.

      A lot of people have been theorizing that Iran is the October surprise that will be the excuse for little bushy to claim absolute power and turn the country into an "emergency" police state to stay in power thus rendering the "election" stalled.

      We'll see...
