In Part 2 of his commentary, The Real News Network Senior News Analyst Aijaz Ahmad talks about Senator Barack Obama's speech at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington DC this week. Obama talks about how he would deal with Iran including using military force if necessary to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He also suggests that in 2002 the US should have "pursued a strategy” to address the threat posed by Iran instead of invading Iraq.

well said JanforGore, I agree with you on the dirty politics and that they all say anything to get elected and that they are all elitist who aren't really trying to change anything BretByron, but it has been made very clear to me that a lot of the people on this site don't want to know. We are messing with their messiah when we say he is just a guy, and that he has just as many problems and lies as the rest. I am tired of people going nuts at me for saying the truth. People should READ HIS RECORD!! AND HIS WEBSITE!! and MCCAIN'S too!!!! People are thinking it is just a popularity contest that he is something new, he is the same as all the rest, so he looks different, he lies the same!!!!!!!!!!

Don't hate because now all of a sudden there is a brother learning to play the game! Keep it real, give him his props, and get ready for bar-b-cue and grape kool-aid at the white house.

Obama is like all politicians from the two moneyed parties... he has to protect their financial and geopolitical interests above all else... And to do that he has raised the most money by selling his rhetoric, and we all know that the one with the most money gets the nomination. I doubt that anything will change on that score for all of the talk because if there were truly a level playing field the Democratic and Republican parties would more than likely be losing a hell of a lot more "elections" if they didn't have control over the process and the voting machines.
I can also believe that any debates coming will only showcase Obama and McCain. No other people running including Nader, Barr, Paul or anyone else will be allowed to participate in this "Democracy." Now, if he was a candidate of change he would ask that all candidates be included to give the American people a real choice, but I won't hold my breath on that either.
And maybe he has not moved to the right because it is where he has always been and can now show it because he got what he wanted. Bush in 2000 feigned he was a moderate or 'compassionate conservative' until he got in (or rather had his minions steal it through a judicial coup) so I have no problem believing that Obama is listening to the same handlers behind the scenes telling him what to say and do now to pander to the groups whose votes the Democrats need to "win." McCain is doing it as well regarding pandering to the right with wiretapping and other issues he supposedly was once against.
Politics is politics and it is what it is, a toxic, dirty, phony business and Obama is no more a change on that front to me than Clinton or any of them were. I would suspect that even had John Edwards by some miracle gotten the nomination, he would have had to make the same speech. That is why this is all so over for me.

If Obama is trying a move to the right, he's got a long road in front of him.

ROFLMFAO, only at current could obama not be far left wing enough... You people kill me! I wonder, if you keep going far enough to the left wil you eventually make it to the "right wing", pretty sure this site and it's abundance of liberal fascists will be the 1st to answer that question.

Wow talk about ignorant. You claim current's viewers are far to the left. First of all, you are a current viewer, welcome to the community? Second, this post only shows you how flat wrong you are. Plus you use "left" as such a blanket statement it almost makes me sick.
Please think before you post.

Barack Obama is half African, his father was Muslim, but that doesn't make Obama "part black Muslim" - religion has nothing to do with the color of the skin.
Barack Obama's father was not even a practicing Muslim.
