Media's talking heads, especially those on cable news shows, will repeat just about any talking point over and over. They're very careful not to let facts get in the way. In last Sunday's NYT, Frank Rich investigated claims that female Clinton supporters are flocking to McCain in droves because they're upset over the misogyny spouted by - gee - that exact same media. The thing is, there's zero evidence to support that claim.

I don't know what you mean by "new guy."

Anyway, your information is anecdotal - you've had a few women tell you they're voting for McCain. They might be saying that because they're angry over the misogyny, as they should be, and when it comes down to it, will not vote for McCain. If they were Hillary supporters, they are likely democrats, and they are likely upset because they've been offended by a lot of the anti-woman rhetoric. If you look at McCain's voting (and, uh...talking) history, he is NOT pro-woman.

Read the column, and you'll see Frank Rich dive into statistics. Basically, there is no evidence to support what cable news is telling us, which is that women are leaving the democratic party en masse to vote for McCain. Women still support Obama over McCain by large margins, even larger than the margins by which they supported Democrats in previous elections.

PoisonTheMonkey, having some female Clinton supporters tell you that they are now voting McCain does not debunk anything said in the article.

If Rich claimed that all Clinton supporters were now voting for Obama, then maybe you're comment would have been relevant.

However, the article was only meant to expose the news media for falsely creating Clinton supporters into angry white women, the mass of them pissed off and voting for McCain.
