Mike Gravel calls for independent 9/11 investigation and prosecution of Bush and Cheney

I wonder what they will do to insure that this commission wont be the same as the last one?

there is plenty of evidence from 9/11 to be found. Let's start with security camera footage from the pentagon.

most of the evidence from 9/11 is gone, either destroyed or shipped away to another country so an actual investigation wouldn't yield anything conclusive.

I wish his presidential bid would have went better. Gravel is a man who knows that the system is broken. Those who are responsible deserve to be held accountable, both foreign and domestic.

For faith in humanity, I hope they didn't lie and instead were really just incompetent.

Like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, Gravel is a man that speaks the truth and says it like it is.

as far as i'm concerned, any major event, especially ones shrouded in allegations of conspiracies and such, can never be investigated enough. leave absolutely no stone unturned!

And if they have nothing to hide, why are they so bent on keeping everything secret?

I grew up with a father in the US Airforce for 25+ years and during the Cuban missle crisis witnessed what our military planes are instantly capable of during a red alert or any threat to our country when they follow procedure. There was never a doubt in my mind that 9/11 was "allowed" to happen.

Personally, I agree that they didn't plan this. What I do believe is that they knew about it and put plans in place to make sure nothing interfered with it because they needed an excuse to start a war. That's why they're so comfortable in stating "we haven't had an attack on American soil since 9/11". Our defense system is more than capable to have prevented this if not told to stand down; there wasn't a military exercise taking place simultaneously with false blips on the radar; and when fighter jets were finally deployed they weren't sent off course.

No one needs to re-open the 9/11 commission because every sane mind knows exactly what happened:

Saudi Arabian nationals, calling themselves
Al Queda, trained by Osama Bin Laden, hijacked 4 American Jetliners and targeted the WTC in New York City, The Penatgon and possibly the White House or Capitol Hill.

3 of the Jetliners, filled to capacity with jet fuel, met their targets taking out both WTC buidlings and damaging seriously the Pentagon.

One jetliner, did not meet it's target because patriotic American citizens fought the hijackers and caused the plane to hit a location in Western Pennsylvania.

Around 3,000 people lost their lives in NY, most of which were American citizens with some foreign nationals.

May all those who lost their lives on 9/11 rest in peace and may God bless and keep their families.

And as to the President & Vice President of The United States:

They shoud be convicted of war crimes..convicted and impeached for NOT KEEPING US SAFE.

But the entire Congress..house and Senate AND
the newly elected (forgive me selected) President & Vice President of The United States did nothing!

Lock 'em up!

Mike Gravel makes me fel happy about this country. He makes me realize that the government is not an insurmountable evil entite that penetrates every nook and cranny of the country. Gravel and other charismatic politicians sstand up for the country. They break the chain of politicians whose sole obligation is to find loopholes in our constitution. Mike Gravel is a sage whose wisdom has yet to occur to the vast majority of this country.

It's so encouraging to hear politicians actually speaking out on this issue. Anyone who knows anything about the 9/11 Commission Report knows that it is ridiculously inadequate at explaining the events of September 11th.

I seriously doubt that those responsible will ever admit thier responsibility but, as long as more people speak out and demand the truth, awareness will spread.

I agree with Mike Gravel and we do need an independant commission not selected by the president, to truly investigate what happened and hold those responsible(Bush, Cheney, etc..) accountable and prosecute them to the fullest!

It is refreshing to see true patriots asking the questions that so many of us still have about suspicious events surrounding the attacks of September 11th.

This is ridiculous. I find most people interested in 9/11 conspiracy theory hold a blatant and fundamental hypocrisy. You can't call this the largest bunch of morons to ever hold executive power all day long, then insinuate that they are somehow the architects of what would be the most treasonous and subversive act ever committed by ANY American..even an American president. And there is quite a list to compete with there..

Well, this is one thing we will not now see the status quo candidates from the two moneyed parties calling for. Kudos to Mike Gravel for speaking out.

One more thing, I believe they will find in this new investigation that the Bush regime was directly involved in 9/11, Bush signed the order for the hit and the CIA and Mosad carried out the plans, and Cheney ran things from building 7 which is one reason why it came down because they want to destroy all evidence as they did by hauling away the steel from the buildings before an investigation could even start. They will find thermate (military version of thermite) as Dr. Steven Jones has found, and they will find that Marvin Bush orchestrated the planting of charges in those buildings because he was in charge of security on 9/11 and before. Then there's going to be an unraveling of forty years of history and lies because of the Bush crime family involvement in the assassinations of the Kennedy's that led right up to today's events which have been in the works for decades. They will find Poppy Bush is one of the biggest heroin drug runners using Mena Arkansas as a entry point with their friends the Clintons. They will also find all this history is all tied together ( ruby ridge, OK, first strike of towers, the cole, and so on ) with a common thread of Bushism running deep through it and the thread ending up at the door step of the Rockefellers the biggest traitors to this nation ever. History will literally have to be rewritten.

The pressure for change and answers will one day mount to such an extent that there will be a second "Boston Tea Party": of sorts, there will be a "Second American Revolution" and it will be the bloodiest battle this world has ever seen.

This will happen mark my words. People are mad as hell and they are not going to take it anymore.

I like the idea that a candidate squashed by the main scum media is speaking out now. He should have started this in the beginning of his campaign to where the media couldn't ignore him but better late than never. A Ron Paul/ Mike Gravel ticket would be the dream candidates for REAL change but I know......dream on. We can't fight this in political terms, or by the phony left right paradigm which is meant to deter you, we have to fight this in corporate terms by taking over their boards and committees and all local offices in your state that govern us. You may have to do it stealth by only revealing your agenda after the position is had. Run for office, join a group get involved! We need new fresh faces that aren't bought and paid for by lobbies such as AIPAC and the oil industry that still believe in the constitution and will take action to get rid of our central bank pain in the ass!

Particularly now that Dumya Gump wants to fake the capture and murder of Osama bin Laden, a man known to be dead since October 2001.

We really do need to know at last and for real what happened 9/11/2001, what led up to 9/11/2001, and what we can do to return to living in a DEMOCRACY after life in this consequent emprial Orwellian military industrial corporatocracy where some embicile claims we're hated for our freedom. The truth is... that... more and more people are becoming interested in... the truth. Honesty should be policy in the governments that run societies.

Sadly we have a government that is too afraid of a few loud mouth conservatives, and too many people who worry about their wallets more than care about anything beyond the reach of their own a--holes.

You might need to look a little deeper into Gravel's background. The man has ethics and is a quiet hero. He is no power monger.

On the other hand, the truth needs to be told by any and everyone who has the balls to speak out.

On this issue I am finding it hard to believe that these people who are speaking up are doing it out of the goodness of their heart and not out of their hatred for not being able to get what they want because not being in total party power.

On this issue, everyone's voice matters. Keep up the noise.
