[8:19:54 PM] Bob Nordberg: http://www.breitbart.tv/the-b-cast-writer-makes-case-that-bill-ayers-is-secret-a... For me the story describing a tidal river “going both ways”. This story just happened to be in both Obama’s Dreams and Bill Ayres Books! That fact along with one more fact “Frantz Fanon”, a figure in anticolonial circles. He is mentioned in “Dreams…” and Ayers’ book. But here is the kicker, both Obama and Ayers spell his name exactly the same incorrectly! Nowhere else is there a book that spelled that name wrong. That convinced me back then that Jack was really on to something. I don’t think anyone has pointed out the name of Obama Poem was "Underground" ...As in Weather Underground or was that just a coincidence?... Did Obama idolize Ayres so much he name one of his two Poems after the Weather Underground? Do Do you need more proof? Well here you go! “What Mr. Midwest noticed recently is that both Ayers in [A Kind and Just Parent] and Obama in [Dreams From My Father] make reference to the poet Carl Sandburg. In itself, this is not a grand revelation. Let us call it a C-level match. Obama and Ayers seem to have shared the same library in any case . . . Ayers and Obama, however, go beyond citing Sandburg. Each quotes the opening line of his poem "Chicago" . . . This I would call a B-level match. What raises it up a notch to an A-level match is the fact that both misquote "Chicago," and they do so in exactly the same way. ....................................................................... Well what happened to me like a bucket of cold water splashed on my face. One year ago on Oct. 15th Jack Cashill the Author came on the-B-Cast it was a Brietbart TV Show the story was told of the convincing Similarities between Bill the Bomber Aryes and Obama concerning their respective Books. After hearing Jack speak I was convinced Aryes and Obama were more than just Neighbors! ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………......................Then something happened that made me part of the Biggest story of our time! It was on September 22nd. I was watching Shaun Hannity on Fox News when he was interviewing Christopher Anderson, during the interview “here is link” http://www.breitbart.tv/the-b-cast-new-claims-confirmation-that-ayers-helped-wri... …………………Anderson said Barak Obama actually wrote Dreams. After interviewing over a two hundred people in the Chicago Neighborhood it turns out there were two Eye witnesses. I did not think that Hannity realized exactly what it was he just stumbled on their because he quickly moved on to another subject. …………………………………….…………………………………………………………………………..............Shaun Hannity left that subject and was on to one that showed he was correct to say Aryes and Obama were closer than Obama was admitting. I am sure Shaun wanted to bring this up with his guest Mr. Anderson. All of America witnessed MSM treatment of Shean Hannity. Mr Hannity was demonized from the left for agreeing with Sarah Palin on this subject as well as Hillary Clinton. ……….Bill Aryes and Barak Obama both knew that if the truth were told, Hillary Clinton would have been the Democratic Nominee. Bill Ayres as a terrorist and a Communist would agree “The ends justify the Means. Is this what the Democratic Party now stands for? Any amount of Lying is ok? As long as the goals are met “getting elected” I have video and Audio collected over the period of one year that shows Barak Obama saying one thing on one subject to one group, and saying the Exact thing to another. Maybe this is not really what the Democratic Party is all about. Maybe many of them disagree with this behavior. I knew this for a multitude of reasons this was Blockbuster. I got up, I turned on my Computer and sent a message to The-B-Cast email. I sent Scott

I think it's artistic.
Propaganda is that new film about Slackers.
And as for it being ruined it's been months and in a downtown area it is possible it could have been altered.
But it wasn't. I mean if he were George Bush it would have been.

I was put off by this image and the artists who painted a massive image of a public official. Civil servants are not idols. If he's good for the job I'll vote him in and let him do the job of serving my needs as a citizen, but it's because of personality worship that our political system is so confusing and our democracy has been depreciated.

I live in Houston. Where was this done? I wanna see it. I think it looks great and I agree that Houston needs some more artisitc works that are seen. This city is so awesome and it can look just as awesome as the people (most) that live in it think it to be.

It's called Obey Obama because the man behind the world famous 'Obey' street art campaign is the same man who designed the image all of these people are painting on this wall. It's a play on words. His campaign is usually called 'Obey Giant' because the original image he created (many of you may recognize) was a sticker/poster of Andre Roussimoff, human giant and wrestler, that say 'Andre the giant has a posse'. This went on to become the 'Obey Giant' campaign.
Not to be a hater by any means, but what is the artistic merit, or the point, in having a bunch of 'artists' basically tracing one of the most commonly used icons of Obama's face on a wall? They didnt create this image.. And why are there so many of them? Why not have the artists do their own interpretations of it. Sadly, not the best show of foresight on the campaign's part.
On another note, yes, this discussion is wildly depressing. Hating Obama...oh man.. - 3 years ago

Yet another republican snow job. The republican party has been doing this sort of thing for years to discredit the democrats. They, the republicans, have been known to pay people to protest against there own ideas to add credibility, and generate publicity. This is just more of the same.
"Obey Obama" and "propaganda" are the seeds of doubt planted to undermine Obama's campaign. Just as the tobacco industry's "doubt is our product" campaign, and George Bush's casting doubt on the facts about global warming. This is just more of the same old tricks we have come to expect from the republicans.
Awareness is the fist defense against deception, and nothing is quite as it first appears.

Obama has shown to be extremely tactful and effective in campaigning.
He is not experienced enough for President of the United States.
The first time I realized this was his statement that he would go talk to officials that were organized in acts that had them ex-communicated from the U.S.
I realize many will say "but he's different, he'll work things out no one has!" But leave the elementary school talk out of here, please.

Shepard Fairy is played out and boring. The Obey fixed gear bicycle was playing to trend, now everyone is trying to sell them off cheap. His shows in LA suck. There are so many better grafitti artists.
The Obama mural should say HYPE instead of HOPE.
The Democrats and Republicans are two factions of the same business party.
When will Obama close Guantanamo? Never.

I find a lot of these responses depressing. They're filled with a mix of scant cultural awareness and opinions based on political indoctrination. Not knowing about something is one thing, but basing that lack of knowledge as place to jump off from is saddening.
I'd just like to add, did anyone else note the unwitting comment in the pod 'I don't think it really matters who you vote for...'? Never a truer word said.

man i love obey and all but come on shepard, do you realize im proabaly less likely to pull your shirts out of my closet and say im gonna rock your art today over shit like this. i live in houston, i love this city and i love graffiti art but i hate fucking obama. the last thing this country needs is to be seen as weak to the rest of the world and ending the war for the sake popularity is a really reallly bad idea. we cant pull out now with out looking like we gave up and this is a religus war on the oppsitions side so they are not going to give up for any reason. oh i hate politics all togather, unfortunatly faireys work lately has been all politics. come on man the buckle is losing sales!

God forbid an artist have a political opinion. I'm guessing he won't be too broken up if you sell anything of his that you have. A person has to stick with their own principals, and clearly this is something he's passionate about.

Fascism and Socialism are completely different ideologies thus making it ridiculous to clump them together.
Fascism seems to fit in with your definition of "self-interest" and individualism of an elite, untouchable class, which is also conveniently the underlying motto of current American values.
Socialism seeks to further social development and planning in order to satisfy the needs of the people as an equal whole, simultaneously balancing the economy and addressing environmental affairs.
Neither has anything to do with patriotism, which is an abstract pissing contest anyhow. And since when is negotiation relevant to one's being "soft"? - 3 years ago

Wow Jan...never would have guessed that comment from you...like your new pic.....
As far as this being propaganda.....I'm not sure...
propaganda |ˌpräpəˈgandə|
noun
1 chiefly derogatory information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view : he was charged with distributing enemy propaganda.
• the dissemination of such information as a political strategy : the party's leaders believed that a long period of education and propaganda would be necessary .It's definately art with a political bent,,,,
And I do agree with some other posters about this guy's connections to the corporate world these days (Nike)...so although political art done by an artist who is increasingly irrelevant, art nonetheless....

Obey is Shepard Fairey's viral meme that started with Obey Posse. If you don't follow street art, you won't get it.
