A declaration of independence from the government of the United States of America

- added this
sacred purpose, namely, to create a bright and sustainable future for its
people and a biodiverse garden of its region. This purpose is possible.
If a government no longer serves its intended purpose then it is proper that
each individual formally withdraw his or her consent to be ruled by that
government.
Through a consistent stream of actions the United States Government has
proved itself to be corrupt, having turned away from serving its original
purpose. The United States Government has therefore failed, and is de facto
illegitimate. Consequently, all of its authorities over me are hereby
removed and the United States Government is hereby disbanded in its
entirety. All branches, the legislative, executive and judicial branches,
including all offices and resources, political, military, informational and
financial, are hereby disenfranchised and replaced by local,
self-organizing, bioregional governments and currencies that promote
sustainable infrastructures and demonstrably serve the principles of
integrity, transparency, interdependence, consciousness and the sustainable
well being of their entire ecology.
Human beings carry an inalienable responsibility for choosing to whom or
what they pledge their allegiance. From this moment forward I no longer
pledge my allegiance to the organization that has called itself the
Government of the United States of America. We are dissociated. I disallow
that organization to legislate, adjudicate, use money, or make agreements in
my name, either nationally or internationally. I hereby withdraw my
franchise from the United States Government and I no longer submit myself to
its authority. I hereby abandon my United States Passport as worthless, null
and void because through its own actions the United States Government has
invalidated itself.
This document recognizes that the United States Government has irredeemably abolished itself by no longer fulfilling its true purpose. This document announces that I take my authority back from that failed organization. The United States Government no longer has authority to represent me, tax me, detain me, question me, or in any way rule over me. It
can no longer take any actions in my name. From this moment forward I take
back my autonomy. I hereby declare my independence from the organization
that has called itself the Government of the United States of America.

This is brilliant, it's too bad there is too many apathetic people in this Country to fully overthrow this BANK ran Country.
When the Founding Father's founded this Country they did it with the hope that we would overthrow our Government if it did not do what it was supposed to do, that time has come and we are too complacent.
I commend you, and pray you follow through. I will back you 100%, I have been an activist for about 2 years now, ever since I was 18, when I finally woke up and smelled the corruptness.
WE vote them in, WE vote them out. WE have EVERY authority for forcefully remove them from that position of "power," if treason were to occur. And, in my opinion, treason is not abiding by that oath that was taken 4 years ago, treason is the Patriot Act which now makes this a DICTATORSHIP, whether you see it or not - it is.

Why go through all the trouble to declare your independence from the goverment of the United States of America?
If you are really that dissatisfied, then renounce your citizenship and move to another country...
...there's no need to act like an unwanted, crazy ex-girlfriend about it.

I reject the premise that the purpose of government is to create a biodiverse garden of its region. Therefore, everything else you said is null and void.
But I like your style.

Ogmin you live in a world of conspiracy and the over thinking of everything. Have you ever considered looking into OCD treatment.
Try living in a country like North Korea or Burma for a month and come back and tell me how bad it is here.
New Generation, Same Hippies. Let me guess you smoke pot wear hemp sandals, play hacky sack and have long hair.
Coincidence i think not
But im not saying the pot thing is bad, just everythin else.

That "go to Burma and then come back" atittude is pretty baseless.
Just because some other places of the world are worse than America, you say "is not so bad here"There will always be a worse place in the world and that doenst mean people cant do better.
The moon is really worse than any of this. Does it mean Im just gonna sit in my ass all day?

Actually, I HAVE lived for a number of years in other countries (Guatemala and Jamaica), and visited a few others. In the interests of not having our government become permanently as corrupt and complacent about poverty while dedicated to making the filthy rich even richer, I do my part to share and educate.
Consider that fact that there are millions of others (innocent, poor Iraqi refugees for example) who are far more vulnerable to the excesses of this regime than our own families, yet far less able to express any meaningful dissent.
As long as you have a voice to speak out against injustice, use it.

It is completely possible to be happy with your personal life and still have significant energy left over to care about injustice, government corruption, naive environmental policies, and other issues that affect us and all of our children (i have six).
I view the original statement as a form of guerilla theater in the tradition of creative political protest more than a serious legal statement at this point.

Cowardly.
Good Luck trying to live without government. You will remember this when you go buy some gas, spend some money in goverment-allowed transgenetic foods, pay your taxes so your money can go to war and watch the TV that millions watch to make you feel good.

"You people keep wanting gov't to do something for you i got a news flash gov't doesnt give a shit about you or anybody"
- I dont know who you mean by "you people" but let me tell you that in theory, government is supposed to follow the will of the people. It has always been that way. The moment that doenst happen you are living on a Dictatorial Monarchy and that is not ok.
At the very least I would like to have the last freedom that a person can have and thats the freedom of questioning your authorities that are supposed to represent you.
Even though it appears I have a strong opinion on this subject, I happen to have a happy life too. At the same time I dont ignore it, just like you do. - 3 years ago

I really do not understand why you would want to denounce your citizenship to the U.S. We have the right to change who our leaders are, thats why we have elections. If you are so unhappy with who is in office DON'T reelect them. Support and campaign for someone who shares your ideals. It's pretty simple it is not like we live in a dictatorship. I really cannot stand people in this country that are so anti-American do you not realize that we are still the most generous country ever we are still a global leader in science, technology, medicine, and agriculture. We give more in charity and aid then any other country. Why do you feel that it is so bad to live here. If you really hate it here that much then leave and good riddance.

Actually the U.S. is no longer the leader in technology or science. I would even challenge that we are no longer the leader in medicine based on average life life expectancy which I think right now we are ranked around 30th in the world right behind Slovenia.
Did you know that China has more college students graduating in the science and engineering fields than the U.S. has TOTAL students graduating in ALL fields?
I work in the technology & education field and I can tell you this is a fact.
Did you know significant number of fortune 500 companies in the U.S employ more technology workers who are not U.S. citizens than those who are?
Go read "As the Future Catches You" by Juan Enriquez......This will get you more up to date with what is happening in the U.S.
I understand the frustration that the original post was expressing. The beautiful thing about our country is the fact that we are allowed to voice are opinions.
I would be interested in the legalities of actually carrying through with a renouncement of citizenship. Maybe the hippies were on to something......

"We have the right to change who our leaders are, thats why we have elections. If you are so unhappy with who is in office DON'T reelect them."
Corrupt Democracy qualifies itself as a Dictatorship. You dont choose your leaders, your leaders are imposed upon you through corporate money. You choose "The lesser of 2 evils" and that, my friend, makes your country a Facist State.
"Support and campaign for someone who shares your ideals. It's pretty simple it is not like we live in a dictatorship."
- Take Ron Paul for example. Good man, hes got great ideals and a good vision of the USA. What happened? The media censored him completely and when they got to mention him, they made fun of him. Just like him, corporate money has rendered 3rd parties useless. Libertarians are like clowns and anyone trying to formulate a different idea for the country gets destroyed before walking one step.At the same time, 80% of the people are against the war in Iraq and pretty much everyone hates and dislikes what the current administration is doing. Do you have a saying? Is the will of the people being listened? The people that try to follow the will of the people get ridiculized by the media, just like it happens to Kuchinich everytime.
And then, all your civil liberties have been shut down for the sake of "homeland security" and all your rights are being taken off before your eyes before you can do anything about it. AND if you do anything about it, you either get ridiculized or your are redeemed an anti-american or a terrorist."I really cannot stand people in this country that are so anti-American do you not realize that we are still the most generous country ever we are still a global leader in science, technology, medicine, and agriculture"
- "The global leader in this and that" is an atrocity created by the media so you can have blind faith in your country. You pretty much heard this somewhere because i can bet you dont know what this really means. Science can mean different things and medicine is very different from big pharma and agriculture can mean a lot of things too. So. Being the "global leader" doenst really mean anything.in conclusion. Your ideals of "how great america" is, are based on TV shows and powerful indoctrination. Truth is, you dont know anything. And if you did, you would do what Mr. dude is doing up there. For more useless that it is.

No need for a gigantic power struggle... The need in our government is for a decrease in federal power and an increase in state power as it was when our government was established and up until Franklin Roosevelt's "reign" in the thirties and forties.

If you are truly doing this - which I believe you are, don't get me wrong - how do you plan on functioning in daily life? And also, could you get arrested for this? Could the government just say, "Your document has no power over American Law," and then the cops come and arrest you? I'm sorry, but this is fascinating, and I would like to understand the logistics of it.

I wonder what the legal options are for voluntarily becoming a refugee. Will the US deport you to your country of choice? It's not like there's a "new world" to colonize anymore and I doubt they'll let you just freeload on their soil.

This President IS a bit different than any other war time President insofar as we were lied into this conflict for corporate profits, NOT for self-defense and initiated hostilities with a pre-emptive strike on a country that had neither attacked us nor any of our allies.
And the fact is, whether it is different or not, it is happening now, so this is the world I am responding to?
