In his 2002 memoir, "Worth the Fighting For," McCain wrote that he had separated from Carol before he began dating Hensley.
"I spent as much time with Cindy in Washington and Arizona as our jobs would allow," McCain wrote. "I was separated from Carol, but our divorce would not become final until February of 1980."
An examination of court documents tells a different story. McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year -- or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.
Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.
Bigamy is the act or condition of a person marrying another person while still being lawfully married to a second person. Bigamy is a crime in most western countries. For example, in the United States, because of the contract a married person makes upon becoming married, that person is obliged not to marry again as long as the first marriage continues; stipulations of the marriage license applying.
I'd say that was kind of a serious issue that should be addressed

Isn't it a lot more about proof than inuendo? The court records can prove whether or not McCain broke the law by remarrying before his divorce was final but what can you prove about Obama's race?

So my discussing his ACTUAL race is bigoted, even though he is running as an African-American (while I consider myself just an American), you on the other hand feel that it is ok to call McCain names and disparage his marriage and his private life.. maybe your not a bigot just someone with a sophomoric intellect and a tasteless sense of humor.

Discusing his race isn't bigoted, trying to make assumption about it that is, what does his marrying a white girl have to do with anything since that's not a crime?
I didn't call McCain names, just asked to answer the charges of breaking the law of remarrying before it was legal that's a totally different question.
One is a question of law and one is an assumption, since breaking the law can have a factual answer and an irrelevant assumption of a personal motive can't.

Tgarius,
Number one he is not running as an African American. He is running as an American. People are born whatever race they happen to be, it is not something they do. Yes, I laugh at McCain, for what he does. He treats his wife awful, both of them by the way. He is open for being laughed at for that alone. I don't give a rats ass if you don't like my humor. - 3 years ago

You have to be kidding on the other hand he's only African-American when it suits him (to get votes) then he downplays it at other times much like his stand on Arab/Israel policy or Iraq.. it depends on who he is talking to.

Saying he's half white and never talks about it shows you haven't been paying attention and asking why he didn't marry a white girl is just baiting. African-American is how some see him that's just the reality of his candidacy and why would he deny it? He's just an American to the color blind.

Which is exactly why Marilynn_Murray suggested no feeding or watering because that's the 4th time you've brought up a totally irrelevant topic of subjective perceptions and refused to answer the question of facts that only proves her definition by your repeating it without contributing anything to the topic that the article was about.

You guys crack me up, lets talk about Barrack being half white and never talking about it, maybe he thought it would be tougher getting the half and half vote (and there are a lot less of them) or why didn't he marry a nice White girl or would that have muddled his image too much.

The thing about that is none of those are against the law like being married to 2 people at the same time.

That's being more selfish than fair and isn't that like "jumping the gun" on the age of consent by marrying 12 year olds?

Be fair, He may have jumped the gun a little bit, but she is filthy rich and the old wife was all beat up from her accident and had no money. Wouldn't it be funny if Cindy publicly dumped his stupid old ass in a couple of months. Kicked him out to live in a studio apartment, left him to drive a straight talk express Pinto station wagon, and fly around on a lawn chair tied to balloons. One can hope for that.

the media won't touch because mccains campaign is already so frail. As I recall, conservative evangelicals we're appalled by Kerry having divorced his wife. Yet hear we have a candidate who does this? they can't morally vote for him and that eliminates his largest voting base. anyways, hopefully someone will bring this up when we get closer to elections as this would pretty much wipe mccain out.

You better get use to the fact that in America we sell injustice to the rich and force it on the poor.

What about the example they made of Martha Stewart? Was she just someone they tossed to the wolves to placate the poor?
