    • I met Benazir Bhutto at a large cocktail party and reception given by her uncle, Mumtaz Bhutto, in Karachi, in 1972. She was a rather shy nineteen-year-old girl, but obviously extremely brilliant. Shortly after this reception, she accompanied her father to the Simla talks in India with Indira Ghandi.

    • She was murdered by the Pakistani ISI, on direct behalf of Musharraf. He of course blamed 'terrorists'.

      Still, considering the things going on at that time it is very plausible Musharraf did this. Remember the way Bhutto was treated the months before. Also take this into account, it's not on a Wiki page this time ;)

      The move appeared to be an effort by General Musharraf to reassert his fading power in the face of growing opposition from the country’s Supreme Court, political parties and hard-line Islamists. Pakistan’s Supreme Court had been expected to rule within days on the legality of General Musharraf’s re-election last month as the country’s president."

      true but its also plausible that at that time there was a heighened lookout for terrorists and the such..... the gov't was just not in the position for an election especiall when bhutto would have just ended the whole thing....

      true, its a long shot but a plausible idea.....

      i agree with most of your ideas though.... the situation and that general area (geographically) has been known to be hostile during elections...

    • aww i wished i could tell what they were sayin. i mean i even know the language... stupid crappy camera... and i really wished it was not so shaky....

      i wont say that she would be a "better" presedient but i cant say she would be a worse one either.... i just dont like the way her husband took power from her death... thats like dead ppl abuse....
