AUSTIN, TX - At the Netroots Nation conference, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, former Vice President Al Gore, and U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett spoke with Jacob Soboroff of Why Tuesday? about the proposal currently in Congress to move Election Day to Saturday and Sunday.
Pelosi: "I think it's a great idea."

I agree. Don't many countries have their election day as a holiday?? OR, having it last over two days would be another way to go. OR, just make it all-absentee. My county is all-absentee, and so we just sit calmly at home with our voter's pamphlets and make reasoned decisions on whatever day works best for each of us. We can then either mail it in, or drop the ballots off at ballot-dropping locations. NO MORE DIEBOLD!!!

People use their weekends for family, fun and relaxation. How about a national holiday on a Wednesday? Can't make a long weekend out of it, might as well be a real patriot and go vote. Whatever day or circumstance, go vote. Focus and vote.
