"Bush Administration Proposes ‘Fire Sale’ of Rocky Mountains for Oil Shale Development"

"On Tuesday, the Bush administration moved to accelerate oil-shale development across the Rocky Mountain West. Along with calls to lift the moratorium on offshore drilling, and open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling, Tuesday’s release of proposed rules for shale exploration (pdf) by the Bureau of Land Management was merely another shot across the bow in the political blame game over $4-per-gallon gas."

    • Bush and his administration are idiots for thinking they can do this. No way, we will stop him and everyone else trying to destroy our precious nature for something so worthless like oil. Yes, I said worthless oil because it really is worthless. Oil has brought war and has killed many innocent lives.

The hell with oil. Alternative fuels are now needed. Too much dependency on oil is killing us.

    • Bush has no power anymore. I was talking to someone "in the know" the other day and they said that basically Bush has been stripped of all his power. Look at Obama touring the world, representing the US. The change of command is already happening.

Don't even listen to that bush guy.

    • I hear there is also a McCain amendment requiring homeowners to allow petroleum companies to drill in their front lawns if they want to. (People with lawns over five acres are exempt.) This way we can git the oel before the Chinese do. It's vital we act now because the democrat party still forbids drilling in our "national parks,"
