Modern cannibalism? [ graphic content warning ]

China is on its way to becoming a World-Class Super Power Nation and the 8-8-08 Olympics is one of the many ways it is showing off. As downtrodden people from Burma, we need to be aware of the dangers of living next to this awakening Super Giant.

Below is a rewritten version of a translation of an article about how some reporter had the chance to dine in on boiled human baby soup. First the translation will be presented and then a brief discussion will follow.

~~~
I'm in complete disbelief. Is this real or is this some sort of grotesque joke? This is awful not only for the obvious taboo of cannibalism, but also for the late term abortion. This is a moral double whammy for me and I think everyone should be aware of this insanity. This atrocity. I think I'm going to be ill.
    • Does it taste like chicken? Personally, I would prefer a nice applewood smoking to really soften the tendons and bring out the newborn taste.
    • I saw that very article about urban legend, and as you see that is bbq type fetus, the person uploaded anon pictures. There is a whole write up on it, and I see you found one of the sources. I found them as well.
      But... this is something a bit different, and maybe I can help explain why (I do have some background with Asian traditional medicine.),
      Later, they did discover that in some places in China, they do consume a variety of strange things in a "soup". If you study Chinese medicine, the doctor will make a special recipe for you that can contain numerous different ingredients (herbs, dried lizards, parts of certain animals, etc.), all together, it is prepared so the patient either uses it as a soup or as a tea.
      Now, this is where the aborted baby and placenta comes in. It is thought to have medical properties, and yes, they are indeed doing this.
      I know it's easier to look the other way and say yeah a hoax. But the best hoax is based in truth isn't it?
      It took a while to actually get the truth, but it makes sense. If you think of it in traditional Asian (here obviously Chinese) medicne.
    • "increase sexual power and improve health"
      "a factory manager, 62 years old, swears it is worth it. It is made by eight hours of steaming and boiling the baby with expensive herbs and chicken and he eats it frequently as a customer in this particular restaurant. He pointed to his second wife, only 19 years old, and claims it is such a potent aphrodisiac they are able to have sex every day."
      oh my god!
    • I found this and thought it might be helpful.
      The following is excerpted from an article in the January 1996 issue of Rutherford, the official journal of the Rutherford Institute (Charlottesville, VA).
      When reports of Chinese citizens eating human fetuses for health reasons surfaced in Hong Kong last year, many dismissed them as fiction . . , but when Eastweek and Eastern Express, two English-language publications based in Hong Kong, investigated, the reporters were in for a shock.
      DISCOVERY IN CHINA
      One investigator feigned illness and asked a Shenzhen hospital doctor for fetuses. Holding up a fist-sized glass bottle stuffed with ten thumb-sized unborns, the doctor said, “[They were] all aborted this morning. You can take them. We are a state-run hospital and don’t charge anything.” A private hospital spokesman offered to sell the reporters full-term unborn, which he claimed “contain the best healing qualities.”
      Zou Qin, a doctor who claimed to have aborted several hundred unborn and eaten 100 fetuses herself, said, “People normally prefer [fetuses from] young women, and even better, the first boy and a male.”
      She justifies the practice: “They are wasted if we don’t eat them . . Zou Qin has fed fetuses to her sister’s children. “I wash them with clear water until they look transparent white and then stew them. Making soup is best.” A photo depicts Zou Qin smiling, holding up a tiny fetus which hasn’t made it to her bowl yet.
    • arcticspirit:
      btw, after reading about this on several websites this last hour or so... I feel completely sick to the stomach, and I feel like no shower could wash the images from my brain. I wanna puke.
      That's it for today. I was truly hoping to find this was a hoax.
    • I was so shocked about 5 years ago when reader's digest carried an article by a nurse that used to work in the hospital in China.
      She stated that they often killed baby girls at the parent's request. it was purely infanticide. Period. Yeah, murder of healthy human babies. Babies born at full term, perfect in every way.
      From what I understand, most families want boys because they will take a wife and move in with them and they will be cared for by their son's wife into old age. Or something like that.
      I found the lack of respect for life then to be shocking.
      I pray this stops forever.
      The reason they want boys if because they can carry the family name down through the generations. Yes, It's bad because within a couple years, the women to men ratio will about 1women: 5men or something around that number. Not only that, they prize men over women because they're needed to protect the family.Especially with the one child law, this puts even more pressure on the ability to have sons. Their thinking is that a group of daughters will not protect a home from robbers compared to a group of sons who WILL protect a home from robbers. You have to remember, most of the Chines population is poor and working in the farmland. I'm not saying this is right but that's the current situation right now.
    • There are some baby-eating photos that are thought to be hoaxes. But dayum, that looks real sort of. I hardly get grossed out on stuff like this but this did it. I might skip dinner.
    • I am sure this is just a hoax and part of the current anti-Chinese climate. Since when is eating human meat a part of Chinese culture? Only because they eat dogs and snakes does not mean they eat anything that moves. And if some restaurants did offer 'embryo soup', which is ridiculous in and of itself, do you really think they would happily allow people to take pictures of their illegal speciality? I doubt it!
      I looked all over the net, and there are 2 photos that are anon, and claimed to be false, of a man eating a human fetus, however that was like bbq, not the soup.
      There are overwhelming reports and photos of preparing and serving fetus soup in some parts of China. Not everywhere. These have a variety of images. They do not include the anon, could be false images.
      Hope that helps.
      I'm not arguing political correctness, and i know that the chinese do have radical abortion practices, and they need to be addressed. But just because they abort many fetuses, and kill newborn babies, doesn't mean that they eat them.
