    • the jobs for the offshore drilling would only go to people from other countries because thats the only thing people like McCain know how to do.
      hire cheaper help.
and people dont seem to understand that in order for things to be fixed you must go through some pain,
everyone says that you have to fight to keep your American freedom, to make your dollar stronger is no different

    • We have had plenty of time to come up with a solution for finding an alternative solution to the oil crisis. You can offer up 50 million dollars in prize money for a company to find and produce an alternative, but guess what? Big oil has all the money. Your idea will end up where they keep the "lost ark". Until big oil has had its fill and wants to make a change, there wont be any.

    • In a time when upwards of 10% of Americans say they believe Obama is a terrorist, there would seem to be no need for McCain to spread more slander about him. Although offshore oil drilling would generate many jobs and help stimulate the floundering economy, there is a real need for an investment in alternative energy sources, and McCain is an oil man.

    • The jobs are already taken at the oil companies. Off shore drilling is not going to affect gas prices until 10 years in the future. The oil companies already have the rigs that are mobile, they move them around to accomplish their jobs. If they do build some new super rigs they will not be up for years. The oil companies already have leased lands on America soil that they are not drilling on currently. Why doesn't McCain ask them to drill on the land they already have where oil already exist?

In the last quarter American corporations have laid off over 500,000 workers. What is 100 jobs going to mean in the grand scheme of things. Do you really think Exxon Mobile with their 11.68 billion dollars in profit this last quarter are going to increase their employees wages? Or are they going to pay the CEO's and investors the money? That trickle down theory doesn't work. We need to tax the large corporations more and invest in natural gas to fuel our cars and start to transition to wind power, solar power, battery power, and nuclear energies.

    • It is sad that a man who is runnin for president could endorse such a message of twisted false logic. Ans that people believe it is a testament to the real change this country needs.

    • its true
He is the most liberal man in office
Never once has he hit the hard issues
      only passed ONE BILL
and now he wants to run
American workers are already feeling the pinch with the Weak dollar and this man wants to raise taxes and not do anything to help lower oil
      Off shor drilling requires workers
      workers means jobs
      JOBS mean money
this is a capitalist nation and we need to up our currency
