Obama/Bayh Leaked?

KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reported that the company, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material. That's Bayh as in U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana. Word leaked out about the material as it was being printed up by Gill Studios of Lenexa. The Obama campaign had said it would make the announcement by text message on Friday.

This is so odd, that this story is posted jsut above a story about Kaine and Bayh being ruled out. I think the delayed anouncement has driven everyone to a fever pitch. This is driving me crazy which probably proves that this is an example of damn good media savvy.

I sure hope its Biden. The Democratic ticket desperately needs somebody with strong foreign policy experience and who will not take any crap from the Republicans.

Sorry.
Officials said the Obama campaign had taken the trouble to print material bearing the names of several potential ticketmates — thereby minimizing the significance of a report that a printing company in Kansas was churning out signs bearing Bayh's name.

The speculation is a bit tiresome and over hyped. It does have the potential to backfire.
What’s more, by keeping expectations hanging for so long, Obama makes it harder to deliver on all the anticipation. A weeks-long strip tease, ending with a naked Joe Biden or Evan Bayh—or some other safe but unsexy choice—might prove deflating.
Obama strategists have said they don’t believe that in this era of compressed news cycles, it makes sense to try to ride a long wave out of the selection of a vice-presidential nominee. The first wave of positive or neutral stories will quickly turn to a second wave of negative ones.

I sincerely hope that this is wrong. The only hope Obama has in winning the popular vote is with Hillary on the ticket.

For god's sake why do people say "veep"? That's just an insult to everything intelligent.

It makes it more colorful especially when they can use it with "Veepstakes" in an attempt to be witty

Abbreviations have their place, especially in tactical situations... similar to a political convention these days.

Bayh is a war monger.
Besides that, are they trying to go for the most random looking collection of letters possible on the ticket?
